To be honest, I don't know which would be right. All Rasile said was that her dreams were memories of her past, and by the looks of things it seems that there just bits and pieces. Which is why they are in two types light/DARK, so that could go either way, but by the way the comic is going I think what could be going on is that they did die and their spirits are trying to tell her something with these dreams. I'm probably WAY off, but that's where I think it's going. However either way would be a great route.

But why would Rasile want her to find them if they were dead. That would only cause her grief.

The way Rasile delivered "Daddy", I can just see this being a lead in to a really good horror movie. I cannot wait to see how your approach will be, as an artist, toward this uncomfortable subject matter. This would also make for a really good play or movie.
