After making Yue feel as bad as she did, Hatoru felt terrible. She has difficulty knowing how to make friends, and that's why she wasn't aware of Yue's intentions earlier. The two girls are a lot alike, and Hatoru had been wanting to be friends with Yue and her group. It's just that she didn't know how. Before putting anymore thought into that though, Hatoru knew that she needed to set things right with Yue. Their conversation outside their classroom is ultimately what led to the two nekomimi becoming friends.
