A new girl by the name of Hatoru Miyafuji has just transferred to Yue's class, and like Yue, she's a nekomimi:). Yue was able to convince her to join her and the others for lunch that day so they could all try and get to know her better. She didn't do much talking, but she responded when she was spoken to. They didn't learn too much about her though. Before Hatoru arrived, Yue was the only nekomimi at her school, so she was really happy to meet another. After lunch however, Yue attempted to approach Hatoru, but was promptly shot down after Hatoru told her that only her friends could call her by her first name. Hatoru's statement hurt Yue a great deal because she really thought they were getting to be friends. However, it seems that Hatoru didn't feel the same way at the time.
I made this comic because I've gone through this type of scenario many times in the past. I would talk with someone for a while, get to know them, and see that we have things in common, but when I try and see if we've become friends, they've said "we're not actually friends" and things along that line. It can really hurt because it makes you feel silly, almost even stupid for thinking that someone you took a liking to and you could be friends. I'm not saying that this has happened recently with me, but it used to happen a lot to me on DeviantArt. That's why I always ask anyone I feel I'm becoming friends with if it's okay for me to add them to my friends list here; because I don't want to do it only to have them say "hey, we aren't friends". It just hurts too much and I don't want to go through it again. So I always make sure to ask before adding someone to my friends list on any sites we're both on. It might also be a bit rude, and I tend to be more polite by nature.
