It has been over a year since we last saw our good friend,
TippieTot. She is quite missed and I wanted to do an homage to someone who inspired me through her love of birds and faith in God.
Pictured here are two Conures I saw while out with my family the other day. One of Tippie's primary characters is a Baby Conure named Apollo. There is a real life Apollo, too for which her delightful, animated version is based after.
For you, Tippie, I share the following works in which will ever be an inspiration. Hopefully, one day, we will meet again.

*Sigh* I wish I knew. The last I heard from her was just before I had my brush with total blindness at the end of July 2012. :( At that time, she seemed to be going through an awful lot. I only can pray that she is well.
Posts like these I try to do as "Lighthouses" for those I cared for so that, if they are still out there, they know there is someone waiting to welcome them back with open and caring arms.

TippieTot was a very special friend who was one of my first pals who enjoyed birdies like I do. I was extra happy when I learned how Apollo was a real bird and that he kept her company. She's a wonderful artist who has a really big heart. She really touched me in a special way I will never forget. Whether she comes back, or not, I will always do what I can to keep the magic of her work alive.
Hurray! I'm so happy Apollo is back, too. Double on the wonderful news.
If I may ask, what is the name of your doggy friend? :)
Because of you, I was able to have a lot of fun with a friend I made at the Cafeteria where I used to work. She has a "Sun Conure" and I delighted in asking her about her. The conure's name is "Bridgett" and she was a rescue bird. Apparently, some mean people thought to use her as a "Bait Bird" and, to do so, removed her back talons. :(
Since Bridgett's rescue, she has shown how adaptable birds can be. She's a shining example of how God intended us to always cope with those challenges life throws our way.
One day, when my family and I can FINALLY afford a home, I want to get a Conure of my own. They seem such a perfect size, full of personality, and just overall awesome. :)

Rufus is a great name for a doggie. Does he look like a Rufus? Reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. :)
I heard conures can be loud. Bridgett, the Sun Conure, served as an "Alarm" for my friend when someone tried to break into her house. She just squawked and squawked until the intruder got too afraid to enter into her abode.
Honestly, I'd be tempted to name my conure after yours. Unless, of course, it was a girl. Then I'd try to come up with something more original.
My friend's conure is a big baby and will cry out "Help!" to get attention. She doesn't trust males, so it is believed a man was the one who made her into a "Bait Bird". :(
I should see if I can find some of her videos of Bridgett to refer to you. I still remember the one you shared of Apollo and how he has that nifty, extra eyelid that blinks. :)
