Ah dude, genesis is always gonna be my number one cuz of sonic, but the system I play the most is N64. I just looove those old school games and party games and such. I think it's just in that era, multiplayer games were the big thing and everyone was fighting to make sure they had the most fun game for multiple players. I remember when it was just two players, then when they came out with four players, I had a nerdgasm.
Now whenever I search for multiplayer games, they're few and far between, or you can't do it from one console, you have to do online multiplayer which nixes any chance you have of playing with friends sitting right next to you. Booooooo

Oh god yeah I grew up mostly on the N64 myself, and I completely agree! Even the original xbox started going towards mostly one player games. I always notice that when friends come over and I pull out all the old school games we could play. Sega has a few, but was still a little wonky even with multiplayer (i.e. golden axe, streets of rage, etc) but man the amount of N64 games are endless, they even incorporated multiplayer in mostly single player games (i.e. donkey kong 64, kirby and the crystal shards)

Soo true! And I'm also starting to see how hard it is to find multiplayer games on the newer systems that everyone agrees on playing. My ex and I are still best friends and we'll sit there for an hour looking through the online game shops (psn, xbox arcade, nintendo shop) and the only place we ever find the most stuff on, is nintendo shop, and that's only cuz it has the old games on it! He and I are two COMPLETELY different people. Like night and day, and it's so hard to find something we both agree on.
Usually those zombie games and post apocalyptic games are what we both agree on, and I can agree, there is an overabundance of them right now, but a lot of them would be sooo much fun had they incorporated multiplayer outside of having to connect online. The ones I do play, I play for the multiplayer aspect and have only a couple of those types where I play single player (like say...fall out). I just think it's wayy more fun to run around freaking out about zombies with friends than it is by yourself.
But before, in the age of n64, god it was SO easy to find games everyone agreed on and would spend HOURS playing. Games that strengthened and ruined friendships (god damn mario party!!!!). Even between people who are on two different sides of the fence, it was a lot more easy to find something for everyone. I HATE FPS games aside from a select few, but back in the day I was a BEAST at Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and such on the n64 and they were some of my favorites. Those old games have an ability to snag interest in a way that these ones today are failing, or using good graphics to try and do as if that's everything.

Yeah even the Wii is lacking /good/ multiplayer games. I'm really disappointed in the market. There's also less role play, less story based games. Its all about the action and destruction and trying to survive. One really good original xbox game that did both story, a tad bit of roleplay, and multiplayer (though online) was Phantasy Star Online.

Itd be easier to explain too. Virus zombie, how does it manage to keep moving and living if it is slowly decaying and rotting? Tons of answers to be bull shitted and fought about. Oh god! Don't even get me started on that zombie front. I'm soo angry at having to run from running zombies. Death is a hinderance!! Y U GET SPEED BOOST?! I want to see a game, where a zombie gets enraged, tries to run, and his leg pops off all "HAHA". xD
And OMG you were THAT player! You were just like one of my childhood buddies and he'd ALWAYS get them. He'd rarely get the ones with coins too. Always stars. There was sooo many games that he just won off of those while the rest of us had one or two. After a while, we started to get better and own him with those bonus stars to the point he always tried to turn them off before the game. xD. And omg pokemon snap. Dude. There was a rivalry between me and the same guy that got all the stars. He was the ace player out of all of us and would always own us, that's why we were so upset when he would get lucky as he could win on skill alone. xD
Well there was a couple games on pokemon stadium 1 and 2 that required speed. He was the fastest, but then I started to get better and at some point it was always a tie up between the two of us. Like with the game where you're sandshrew and you had to dig, my brother and our other friends would only battle each other, or if they could, put the controller down because they knew they couldn't beat the two of us. Sooo many rivalries and nights spent pissed off and arguments, but we always would come back to make sure we got the mystery gift at midnight. lol~
And it is pretty cool to chat about all this nostalgia~

Hell yeah! Boo was the best, especially when he went for stars cuz then they couldn't do anything to shake him off. It was hard to use boo for coins on some of my friends because they've got quick fingers.

Pokemon trozei was this really addictive, yet strange, pokemon puzzle game where you have to match pokemon almost like bejeweled. And vizzed is awesome. It works with computer controllers (or xbox controllers you set up on your computer like me cuuuuz you're broke. xD) and you only have to download this little plugin. All the emulators and games are on the site.
Possibly, but I will be doing a bit of research before I download and play it, just in case. I'd be in a lot of shit if my school laptop got destroyed because of a game. I'd also be out of pocket for something my college tuition paid for. D:
But yeah, steam in itself has been running fine, though again, I kiiinda wish they had more of a selection. Don't get me wrong, they have a TON of games, but a lot of them are ones I wouldn't even look twice at. But they're pulling out of that for me, bringing in a few different games.

Not a whole lot and not terribly old. Just a few from the Playstation/Playstation 2 era. Nothing to jump up and dance about. And indie games are starting to become a force to be noticed. I started playing a few of them and I've found some real gems, but then there are SOOOOO many that just flat out sucks. Like it seems like the creator never even picked up a controller to any game console ever. And it's hard to weed out those few good ones in the mountain of suck.
I actually like both those games. Though I don't own borderlands personally. I'm not sure about silent hill though. I'm not a huge fan of the scary/horror genre of games or movies. I've got friends that play them enough I know some of the monsters and plot line but other than that, I have noooo idea~
I like them too, I just think they're over rated for how good they are. There are a lot better games that could get a lot more attention you know? I loved Mordecai in borderlands though~ Lol fair enough, I'm not really a horror person either, but I love the pyschological aspects to the game, yesssss~
From the time they first announced ACNL to the time it was released was FOUR FRIGGEN YEARS! D: I was DYING. I thought I wouldn't get a 3DS until after it came out, cuz I always get consoles and such a while after their release once the prices go down. But then I ended up getting one for a gift for the holidays and that just made the wait worse!!

Oh man I can imagine! I had been waiting the same amount of time, and to realize I can't play it sucks D: Uh no, I'm very prone to migraines, and even with the 3D off, its still different I guess. Anyway I get massive migraines, cant see normally, and get very sick from playing it even with it off
Oooh. Yeah I've heard of that problem before. That suuucks. I get that way sometimes with some games. I dont' know what it is about them either. Some of them I can play for a while before my head hurts and I feel sick, some of them are instantaneous. And when I think this is caused by one thing, I'll play a game with that same thing, and nothing will happen! D:
Hmmm I think its the refresh rate sometimes but also I've learned some games that have too wide of a view give me migraines. Like uh Skyrim actually, where you see like everything in such detail, even far away and even in your perifeal that I think it confuses and hurts my brain lol
Skyrim does that same thing to me after I play a while. And so does Minecraft and Left 4 Dead. It might be. I wish I could figure it out. Cuz that shit sucks soooo much when you're ready to game and your body's like "lol nope. Imma just make you have a headache and make you feel like the room is spinning which makes you want to puke!"
Oh they're just as bad sometimes. I can get away with it sometimes with the other two more often than skyrim though. Skyrim is an always type deal when I play, sometimes it's for a while, and sometimes it happens within a few minutes. The other two games either it happens or it doesn't. It's weird
