But Sagitar...that whole speaking in third person sets my teeth on end and makes my tail fluff, that's usually a bad sign with any one

(shes not thats, the overlord speaking and sagitar herself is referring to clovis who attempted to use nanites on darius. Different Font's Fox's is thicker and Sagitar's is the thinner. (and yes they're consistant page to page)

On a more serious note. She scares me, just a little.

As much as I understand the debate here, I have to agree with Sagitar. Words of wisdom from someone who isn't as close to the situation. Favoritism will breed dissent, and in this case I think the action taken was warranted. Despite not knowing what sedatives might do to an alien, Darius was technically a threat to others and himself at that point. Sedation was a humane option to make him safe.

At least, that's my thoughts following the story so far. Great job, I adore the story line and the fact that all of the actions taken by the characters make perfect sense based on what we know of each character's philosophies and motivations.

I definitely agree on the sedative concept, Ofnothing. As a Medical Officer, Sagitar had a duty to perform and she has done it to what she perceives as the best of her ability and within the dictates that The Overlord had laid out. If she is also accused of lacking a comforting bedside manner or tact, then that is another debate.... and one that will have few people arguing against.

For the jealousy/dissension part I think she may be overstating it a bit, but I can understand where she is coming from... my only issue is that she is also casting a poor light on her fellow minions. She implies that if The Overlord is a bit overprotective of Darius then the others will feel neglected or undervalued..... and I would hope that they are better than that.

As for trust, I believe that Sagitar needs to look a little deeper and contemplate whether that lack of trust some may show in herself and Clovis may stem more from their somewhat less than tactful patient interaction skills than undervalue.... one always trusts a kindly sounding doctor who listens to you and gets to know your issues more than one who looks upon you as in interesting problem or experiment... or just as a source of amusement....

Dissention is not good.

Meanwhile, my DM character (who I may rename Lloyd for the halibut) is facepalming hard and wondering why she thought sedatives were a good idea. On the other hand, if he's being forced to injure himself, ya gotta immobilize him quick. Gotta talk to R&D about sticky rounds...
