It's okay, he wasn't all that important anyhow.
Sure, he's the tutorial soldier's brother, but by endgame, it's his best friend, Penelo, giving the ending dialogue, while he's hauling boxes IN THE BACKGROUND. =P

He deserved to be decapitated!
Basch should be the main character, but Square-Enix changed it because they wanted to "attract" teenage boys and girls to buy the game by using Vaan and Penelo as "advertisement".

I'm still waiting for a game with a better main protagonist for OVER 10 YEARS!
