A variant of the steameroid designed and used as heavily armed foot soldiers for fighting on airship and on the ground if needed. Armed with a .303 water cooled magazine fed machine gun they use low velocity versions on airships to prevent gasbag punctures.
Built and given a partial sentience, the steameroids were a partial reverse engineering of the original robots used for construction purposes in the empire. They are the mainstay of the entire empire making up about 1/3 of the entire empire as it is. The name steameroid comes from the obvious fact that they run on steam power. A stationary boiler filled the 2 liter 36 hour high pressure steam container that takes up most of their middle inside
workings. They are built of high strength boiler plate and metal work, and covering in artificial flesh and fur to look like their intended.
The Basic Steamroid Regular infantry wear simple combat armour, protecting their torso and groin area combined with kneepads and a combat kepi with an integrated radio and arm based display unit during the war. The basic design is so efficient that all infantry units are equipped with these suits, with appropriate modifications to suit their battlefield role ( Grenadiers have backpacks containing grenades). They are armed with Mk. II Iver Enforcer semiautomatic carbines in .22 caliber for training and .30 calibre for front line service but in this case .303 low velocity rounds. They are usually used for urban fighting while the Ross Rifle MK. I a bolt action long rifle is used for longer range fighting.
This particular variant will be the one I use to make a steameroid fursuit to represent Kirov, and my ideas.
