Kjell Qvale was one of the first importers of british sportcars to America in the 40s and 50s . That might also explain why this car was the "MG Liquid Suspension" special, since he dealt with MGs.
Joe (I think in this case, it's Joe) Huffaker was a long-time race car builder. He built rear/mid-engined racing cars called Huffaker "Genies" that raced in the big sports car and early Can-Am races in the 60s. He also built Trans-Am and IMSA GT cars in the 80s as well as production and GT race cars for SCCA events for decades. I don't know if it's the same Huffaker, but I've read they still build and race old sportscars in vintage events these days.
With one of the drivers being Walt Hansgen, along with the names Qvale and Huffaker, it sounds like this car had some serious road racing ties. I'm glad you posted this, because this looks like an interesting car with a unique history worth delving more into.
But then again, there were a lot of interesting Indy cars in the 1960s.
