As i'm tied-up getting some commissions done i thought i would post some stuff from my dA gallery this week - some fractals, fantasy art, op-art, fine-art, illustrations etc....i'll move all non-anthro art to my scaps in a few days after posting....sorry for delay on new anthro pics...soon....elric again....A younger, more hopeful Elric than the last pic.
Prismacolor pencil, watercolour markers, silverleaf and goldleaf pens on paper. approx 8-1/2x11inches. The white-ish bg pattern was highly metalic silver, the sort of greenish ocher was highly metalic gold.
Micheal Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone - the original "Elric" for whom Edward Elric is named as an homage, the archetype for Vampire Hunter D, etc etc, all the doomed tragic langourous sexy but aloof heroes, guilt-ridden and mourning lost love...Elric was the last emporer of Melnibone, the Elvin kingdom that was ancient when human civilization was just beginning...a frail albino, he is sustained by his demon sword Stormbringer that devours the souls of those it kills...and Stormbringer does what it wills, much to Elric's horror and sorrow...Elric served the god-like Lords of Chaos, but brought about the catastophic end of their reign, the end of his age and people and magic and the beginning of the human age...

Drawn in the sketch book of a friend of a friend ...around '93 ?...thought i'd try to draw a hot looking guy for her...this was before any of the yaoi pretty-boy stuff had been translated or published in the west, i hadn't seen any thing like that back then. Done during a few lunch breaks and after work at Hanna-Barbera.
"Luna" got a Daily Deviation at dA and so got thousands of views...This pic got almost 2,000 views with no promotion...it's pretty catoony...wonder how a realistic version would do..? nah, got too much to do...

These covers sort of bugged me back then cuz, yes, they were super cool, and no, that wasn't Elric. i did a number of drawings accurate to the texts back then....But over the years this sort of muscular, gothy, suave image developed among fans...along with him being dark and broody and doomed (as opposed a whiney young mess-up) ...i wanted to try a smexy guy drawing, so i went with the alternate fan version of Elric...
