I was informed by Artemis's player that it would take a direct attack on Hector to get her to break her vow of non-violence under Fox's rules. I decided with some reluctance that Pyrite deserved this, I dislike killing characters but there's only so much evil i can allow to go unpunished. Artemis would have been the only one who would be able to give Pyrite the comeuppance she deserved with the least amount of reprucussions. I still feel a teensy bit guilty for killing Beryl's pet.
Also yes i used a different font altogether for Beryl's scream, i was going to use hers but it litterally looked like a sparkle dog and a valley girl had children and they were crying about not getting asked to freshmen middle school prom like SO UNFAIR LIKE TOTALLY...sooo in order to take her cry of anguish/blood curdling scream a wee bit more seriously....
Also Hector, i am so so so so so so sorry.. that i used you for a plot device.... again...

For all the little snit has done, that was...surprisingly quick. Artemis has apparently lived enough on her own in the wild to be able to quickly and cleanly dispatch small game. I was surprised at how...sympathetic? I felt towards Beryl. Yes, she is a royal queen Beyotch, but as a pet owner, I feel for her loss. Even the bad guys have feelings. Then again, perhaps she shouldn't have ever sent her pet on a mission like that, anyway.
Way to play our emotions like a keyboard, Kat. Well done, well done indeed.

Exactly my thought Tigermark. Beryl, if you truly valued your pet you would not be sending them into these sorts of actions.... especially a Domestic version..... 229 was a military operative and as such was more suited to the role he was given.
Beryl, as much as the loss of a pet hurts, you can only blame yourself for failing to be a responsible owner. As for Pyrite, she(?) had her chance to listen to 229 and without hesitation backstabbed, quite literally, her colleague who had just said he needed to explain and get help for her. The end result may have almost been too swift a reward for her actions.
Owner and pet may just have been too well matched for their own good.

*pulls out a list*
first it mildly poisoned darius steele and implanted a relay device in him that can also be used to worsen his current illness for as long as he doesn't know its there
secondly it stabbed agent 229 and tried to kill him
thirdly it stabbed and poisoned a defenseless Hector, who was already ill.
fourthly it was about to kill Garret Silver with another poison spine.

Actually it would be a less painful way to go than any of the things Pyrite has done to others.....
It would only be stressful if Pyrite realised what was about to happen, otherwise it would be relatively painless and fast (hence why the action is used with many small game)

taxidermy, no, not extremely terrible. Neither would dissection, as Pyrite is *quite* dead and would feel nothing, and it would be a chance for the Overlord's forces to learn more about their enemies. HOWEVER, for the sake of 229, who if he survives would be very upset at seeing his former "playmate" done that way, I would suggest not.
Now terrible would be stuffing the little murderous thing and sending "her" back to beryl in a box with a ribbon and card.

(just sayin')

Now, hang on a minute here.
First off, some characters have to die. I'm not a fan of rampant character death, mind you, but it does a lot from a storyteller's perspective: you get to see other characters react to death, you create new motivations for the friends of the deceased, and you help tie things to a reality for the story.
Secondly, I'm pretty sure that Pyrite had at least some form of comeuppance due, if not for what happened to 229, then for other events.
Thirdly, I've had plenty of experience with death. I don't want to go into details here, since I don't want to throw a pity party for myself (especially on a friend's journal post). I say that, however, to mention that people react to death differently, and in ways you might not understand.
Finally, I would like to point out that about every comment I made involving Pyrite involved taxidermy at one point or anotherdidn't think Fox would kill off the character. =0.0=

The crack kinda surprised me and for a few seconds I was wondering if there was going to be a "still alive" out. Guess not.
Valley girl? Hadn't heard that term in a long time. Do they still make those things? Actually, I was born and raised in "The Valley" The valley girls evolved about the time I got out of HS. They really weren't as bad as the movie industry made them out to be. :)

i know how hard it is to kill off a character, even one as despicable as Pyrite, though there is sometimes an odd satisfaction in doing something drastic to a villain like that. Less so when you have to do it to a character you actually like, no matter how important it is for the story.
