I know, heh. I wanted to read a sinister plot, but put a bit of a variation on it, y'know? That was really all I'd thought of with doing it.

The problem is dude is that your voice is just too pleasant for that monologue. You don't sound very threatening at all. Perhaps you should try the other recording, sometimes 'out there' is what makes the difference. Experiment with your voice further, try some vocal excercises etc. But I highly recomend you try a different monologue, something that is going to do you more justice. Sometimes the nice guy monologues are just as impressive and impacting.

No no, I appreciate it! I actually sent along both copies to the person who asked for it. The main aim of this was that I was trying to make a threatening speech sound... less threatening, I guess, heheh.

Dude this is better than the one you posted You use your voice more in it and once you get going (I could hear you giggling slightly at the start hehe) you feel more comfortable with it. But, it still suffers from the problem of suitability, my advice is to try a different monologue still. Though this recording is better, you're still too nice in it. It's both your praise and your doom at the same time during it, you're nice to listen too but just not sinister. But I will give you more merit for not impersonating Heath Ledger. I'd be interested in hearing you attempt a comedy monologue perhaps

And I will admit... I know I'm a bit of a softie. I mean... I tend to do other characters like King Candy, Stitch, Mickey Mouse... Kuwabara from a certain anime, Gollum... But I wanted to do something a little different y'know? I actually ended up not listening to Heaths version of it at all and just winged it completely. I was trying to do more of a "creepy" thing with it, rather than outright impersonate him. Lets face it... nothing could top that performance.

Very true, Heath Ledgers performance in that was so huge that when anyone tries to do that monologue it just doesn't have the same effect. People don't realise that it's a hard monologue to get right, even with your own style on it. You could try a different monologue from another villian? See how that goes perhaps?

Eh, I think you're right. I don't think I should stick to villain monologues. I think I need to go with something either a bit more up beat or something more morose x3
