You may need more practice with markers but you are very observant when it comes to colors of sky and backgrounds. You've got that strong point to work with. There are subtleties you'll need to have pointed out to you because of your color-blinded-esque-ness, but you have a great start. Let's talk markers sometime, I'll bring mine over.
