I made this mask largely as a test--I wanted to try making leather scales and riveting them down onto a larger piece. Which worked well, and I really liked how they spiked outwards, though this design in particular I didn't find all that exciting. So I was kind of unsure whether I felt good enough about this design to actually post it for sale.
And then, while setting the last rivet, my hand slipped and I pounded a nice circular dent right in between the eyebrows. So I guess I'm not selling this one. (Unless someone really wants this one, in which case note me and I'll figure something out. Probably just charge for shipping.)
Anyway, it's made of 4-5 oz vegetable-tanned leather. Cut out with a laser-cutter, then hand-shaped and sealed with a matte leather finish.
While I was photographing it I noticed that you can see some patterning from the skin of the cow on the leather underneath the eye. I do kind of like that.
