So this Jack is Gem's father. I'm nervous as to where things will go from here. Whatever will be "found", though, I'm still eager to know.

Well, my head canon is that;
At some point, Jack and Nicole's marriage grew cold and they eventually divorced. At first, the separation was on amicable terms, but after a while, resentment wormed its way into Jack's heart, which only worsened as he started drinking.
Eventually, he grew paranoid, and started suspecting her of infidelity, and even started to question Gem's true paternity. He began harassing her for a DNA test, but she was afraid that he had grown unstable, and refused to hand Gem over to him.
So he started refusing to pay her child support, which, because she had been a housewife previously and was still looking for a job that she could balance with her home life, meant that she had no income for awhile, and before long, she was deep in debt and facing repossession of her recently purchased house (Jack got their old one in the settlement).
Fortunately, some nice (if somewhat shady) men offered to help her with her financial troubles. Unfortunately, these turned out to be loan sharks with ties to organized crime. And when Nicole started to rack up a debt with them, they decided to make a little "foreclosure" of their own.
As it just so happened, just before the hit, Jack paid yet another of his "visits". And after the inevitable fight, as Jack headed back to his place, he discovered a strange hair on his jacket, and quickly realized that it was a strand of Gem's fur. Seeing an opportunity to prove his suspicions once and for all, headed for the nearest clinic and had it tested.
99.9% positive - he really was her father. And with his only excuse for his behavior now gone, all that was left was the harsh realization that he had been acting like a complete a-hole for no reason at all. So he rushed back to her house, hoping he could still fix the bridges that he had burned.
But as he entered the block, he noticed several fire trucks in the area. And when he pulled up, what he saw next left him shocked and horrified - Nicole's house, completely consumed in flames. Panicked, he ran towards the house, only to be stopped by the firefighters, who insisted that he keep his distance for his own safety.
As he looked around, he noticed Gem and her brothers out on the lawn, surrounded by police officers, so he knew that at least they were okay. But Nicole was nowhere to be found, so he questioned the firefighters, but they had yet to find any sign of her. But before he could inquire any further, there was suddenly a loud crack, followed by another, and then several more, and soon the house collapsed with a loud crunch, leaving only a pile of twisted, burning wreckage.
And at that moment, Jack's heart sank. There was no way she could've survived that - she was gone. That was it. No chance to apologize, or even say goodbye. Since then Jack took it upon himself to honor her by taking care of the kids as best as he could, while also trying to avenge her by working to put the men responsible for her death behind bars.
However, his alcoholism was still a problem, and after one slip-up too many, child services came and took them away. And so, once again, he was left with nothing. And as the crushing loneliness, despair, and self-loathing consumed him, his drinking worsened until eventually...he just drank himself literally to death.

i gust we soon see if your right :) it not bad of a gust. for me, i get the feeling that jake hate gem for some reason. maybe he think gem not his kid or something. maybe he broken heart at some point and it just eat jack up inside. but whatever it maybe. i know something bad happen when gem was a little kids.
