Miranda Scopes discovered when she was a teenager that she had the ability to generate laser energy; the irises of her eyes shone a beautiful ruby color because of the mutation.

She was ashamed of it.

So ashamed she constantly hid her eyes and denied her power. While this drove her to become a famous actress, it all spun out of control one fateful night and she could deny her gift no longer.

Laser Vixen was soon born, inspired by the example she was shown by Miracle and Phantom.

She is no longer ashamed of her power.
