Finally posted this mask up for sale! Here's the link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/129795554/insect-mask
The hexagonal grid of holes mimics the compound eyes of insects, with the almost iridescent finish matching the color of their carapaces. The pattern obscures the eyes from the outside, but is open enough to allow for easy vision when wearing it.
The antennae are painted with a gradient of milky white, which glows green when the lights are off.
This mask was specifically designed so it could be worn over eye glasses.
Made of 4-5 oz vegetable tanned leather, it comes with a leather cord to knot in the back. The mask is cut with a laser cutter, providing highly accurate cut patterns. It is hand-painted with acrylic paints and then stitched together with waxed linen thread.
