A lot of Mirra's life difficulties have been a result of Hestia having saved his sister Mae when she was very young. Subsequently, Hestia was the one to craft Mirra's flesh from female to the male seen today. He went through a lot of struggle adjusting mentally to the change.
Now, hundreds of years later, Mirra has been integrated with the Mehar daemons, and finally gets to have a long in coming discussion with Hestia. He's still a bit angry about the whole thing... not just at him, but at himself for not being able to do what Hestia couldn't - kill Mae for all that she's done.
