I cannot say I have ever seen an actual fursuit of this species, just mass made mascots and most of them cheap looking.
The whole thing will be ready to debut in about a week, we went for a very simplified toony look, namely when it came to the hands and feet.
(this fur man, it is beautiful quality but also very fickle to work with, it shows every wrinkle and seam and you have to work extra carefully)

I commented just yesterday about how there isn't any hippo fursuits! Now there is! He looks fantastic. I hope we get to see this fella at AC.
By the way, I'm making a walrus for a friend and I need brown short-pile shiny fur similar to this. Since you didn't like this specific fur, is there a place where I can get something that looks just like that with a taller pile to hide seams? I'm usually ordering DF fur and haven't a clue where to get short-pile stuff.

Pretty sure you have to have it fully paid for before she'll start. I think she got burned in a bad deal at one point where she finished the suit, and then the commissioner backed out, making the work she did effectively a waste since everything she makes is tailor made to fit a specific person. Makes it quite hard to resell these things in a situation such as that.
