I used my skils in art and spetial FX to make fake claws feel the difference between claws and nails. Here are my conclusions...
Feet
1) First ting is that the claws hit sometimes the ground. The sensation is weird but you get use to it...
2) Some people believe that you can shred your socks and shoes when you get claws and you don't notice it. Well, I can tell you that it is half true : first, it is pretty hard to don't notice that you have claws but if you have to hurry, it is possible. Also, if you don't pay attention when you put on your socks, you DO can shred them, I almost did it. But the shoes part, it is not true. Please, note also that when you have claws socks, shoes, boots are pretty unconfortable. Believe me, the best ides when you have claws is to be barefeet (or barepaws Lol!).
3) About the shoes, the main problem is that it is less confortable.
4) Strangely, I didn't hurt myself while sleeping. Samething for fingers. In fact, it makes no differnces if you sleep and you have claws.
5) Something else, when I tried to open the dore, I had to et use to the claws of my feet because it hit the dore even if it is only one cm long.
6) As I said, wearing shoes is VERRY unconfortable, but to continu my experiment, I did it for a day long and my conclusion is that it's hurts! Particulary on the big toe because the claw is bigger. Because the claws always hit the top of the shoe, it feel almos like an ingrown nails. The only way I found to calm down the pain was to plant my claws in the sole of my boots wich harm your sock and footweare. Another problem with the footwear is that, with your claws you can easily shred your socks (when you walk or when you put your shoes on). I almost ruined a pair today.
7) When you wear only socs, the claws are a little bit niticable. In fact, someone who look at your feet can easily notice that something is weird with your toes.
8) If you wear boot or shoes, nobody will notice the claws even if the shoe frame can be affected a little bit
Hands
1) Typping is the biggest adaptation about the hands' claws. You alway touch the wrong character! Lol!
2) Itching is a little bit weird because you can easily hurt yourself.
3) Every usual manipulation, like open a bottle, take an object, etc need some adaptation but it pretty easy to get use to it. In fact, it is not really different, i guest, to have longer finger nails.
4) Using a remote controler is harder too.
5) Wearing small glove won't help you to hide your clas because they easily go true the fabric or even shred it and the frame of that kind of glove will be too affected to hide your claws. A mitten or a big leather gloves are really a better option.
Here are the pics of my feet claws... Hope that you'll find it helpfull!
Legend
Barepaws 1 - 2 - 3 : Just showing my claws on different angles. Sorry for the lack of colour, I didn't had time to paint them. Also, I'm not a girl, so! Lol! Jooking. I'll paint them with my airbrush eventually!
Sock-Problem-1 : Yes, it happenned, one of my claws went trought my sock even if I'm beginning to get use to have claws*, it prove that it can happen! Lol! By the way, it is the verry first time I do it.
*No, I don't wear it all the time...
Sock-Problem-2 : As I said it, it is pretty hard to put the socks on. Here is the main reason. When you have claws, you must first bend down your tows to be sure that your claws won't go throught the fabrick of the socks...
Sock-Problem-2 : Just another angle...
Sock 1 - 2 - 3 : After some time, I finally did it, my feet are in my socks. But As I said it, someone who don't know that I have claws will see that my socks look weird...
