I call this ship “cops and robbers” haa haha Cause she’s a cop, and he’s an elusive and markedly ‘dangerous’ criminal.

Tess, I imagine, is every bit as clever as Gideon—perhaps even more so.

Their entire relationship is a long lasting game of “chicken”. She could have him sentenced to life with all the incriminating evidence she’s managed to compile against him. He has the uncanny ability to make troublesome individuals “disappear” without anything tracing back to him.
And they both have a series of back up plans in case either one of them decide they don’t want to play nice anymore. That preparedness is, after all, part of the fun! Trying to keep one step ahead of the other.
