Willows are mammals, having predominant vulpine like features with a touch of rodent.
The best way of identifying a Willow is by the cotton located on the inside of their ears and on their ankles. When the cotton is shed, they will look like any other fox/mouse mixed species.
Another possible way to identify a Willow is by their tails. Females have a large fluffy tail as well as a secondary smaller tail that is usually settled upon the larger tail. Males have long tails, fluffy at the base then are shorter in fur length until nearing the end where the fur becomes longer. Seasonal pelt changes are another defining Willow feature. A Willows pelt will change color from warmer to colder seasons, warmer coats usually being more vibrant in color, while cooler coats usually stay very dull and unsaturated.
Willows are predominantly social creatures and reside in tribes. Tribes also coincide with Sub-Species.
Current known tribes include: Flower Field, Coastal, Sand Dune, Snow Field, Cave, Volcano, Swamp, and Rogue.
Rogue tribes are specifically held for Willows exiled for doing something against their Mother Tribe.
Willows are not typically aggressive creatures, excluding Swamp Willows.
They are strong in what they need to do for day to day life, but combat is not something a Willow will usually participate in.
Willows are incredibly agile and calculative, being escape artists and being very quick to react properly to a situation.
If all tactics fail, Willows will release the cotton inside their ears and on their ankles as an irritant to escape unharmed. When released from the main body, a chemical is released within the cotton which, upon contact with another species, will cause non-lethal inflammation of all mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, mouth and lungs leading to temporary blindness and pain upon the "enemy".
Willows are usually only active outside of their tribes during the warmer seasons, when their cotton swells due to the higher amounts of sunlight.
Willows cannot regulate their body heat, and use their cotton to absorb sunlight to maintain warmth, which helps in keeping them warm through the intense colder season.
Willows value Mother Earth and all of nature. Their agriculture and relations with the animals living around them are the two key factors of their survival.
Willows (aside from Rogue, Swamp and Volcano) have a predominant vegetarian based diet. Meat is needed for specific nutrients, but Willows do not require copious amounts like most other omnivores.
Willows are known to strengthen the bond with the wildlife by nurturing the weak, sick, elderly and infant animals.
In the threat of hunters, Willows are also known to risk their own lives to protect the animals they reside with.
The biggest predator to Willows are, in fact, human beings. A Willows pelt is not only highly prized for its rarity, but also for how soft and silk like the pelt is, and how strong the skin is. In saying this, it is easier for Willows to be hunted in winter when they are with their Tribes and when they are more lethargic due to the cold and lack of sunlight. Winter pelts do go for a high price, but summer pelts go for even more when the cotton of the Willow is more swollen with sunlight and the Willows are in their peak of good health. Nothing is wasted when a Willow is hunted down and killed.. Because Willows maintain their bodies, their health, the meat and bones of a Willow is considered a delicacy.. Since a damaging chemical is released in the cotton when it is shed from a living Willow, their cotton can only be harvested from a deceased Willow, being ripped from their ears and ankles to stuff bedding, and their pelts skinned to make clothing, blankets, and rugs amongst other things.
--- Differences between Male and Female Willows ---
A male Willows Tribal marking is usually placed upon their rear, while female Tribal marks are traditionally located on their outer thigh.
Rogue Tribal markings are the only exception as their tribal is actually a scar burned on one of the most painful areas of their lower torso. Some Rogues will paint over the scars to spite the base Tribes who paint Tribal markings upon their forms.
Male Willows are tall, thick and muscular. They range between 182 cm (6 feet) to 228 cm (7.5 feet).
Female Willows are small, fragile and dainty. They range between 121 cm (4 feet) to 176 (5.8 feet).
Male Willows have a single, slender, long tail that sprouts a large amount of fur at the end and at the base.
Female Willows have two separate tails. A large, long and fluffy tail mostly resembling a foxs tail, and a small, short and fluffy tail that mostly stays inactive and rests atop their larger tail.
Male Willows usually focus on the harder physical labor when it comes to tasks within the Tribe.
Female Willows usually focus on lighter, more complex and artistic tasks within the Tribe.

More will be added to this bio as time goes on, but as for now, I believe I have covered the basics. If you think of anything, please feel free to ask, and I will place thought into it.

The Willows Species
As a CLOSED species, you may NOT make your own. However, you can and may get a custom Willow or adopt a Willow if any are available.
When buying a Willow, it is not cheap, but can be affordable. If you would like to purchase one for yourself or for a friend, please note CheebaeCheeks and work out what you would like for your Willow and how you would like to obtain one.
When purchasing your Willow, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions of owning one:
~ The name, personality, age, ect, is completely up to the owner of the Willow
~ You must be watching CheebaeCheeks and the Willow.Species so you can get updates of the species and any guideline changes.
~ You MUST stay active on FurAffinity so that CheebaeCheeks / Bella~Rosa of the Willows can keep track of any Willows out there. You do not have to be overly active, but you will need to be active enough to stay updated.
~ If you are not wanting to use FurAffinity anymore, but still want to keep and use your Willow, you will need to link CheebaeCheeks / Bella~Rosa to the page/pages you are using so we can keep track of the Willow in question.
~ We are not expecting to see a constant flow of art of the Willow, you can even just use as an icon so that we can see that they are not being neglected or graveyarded.
~ If you are wanting to re-sell/re-home, you MUST go through CheebaeCheeks, and you can only sell for the amount you originally paid for, no higher unless a considerable amount of art comes with the Willow.
~ I have the right to re-home any un-paid Willow as I see fit.
~ You are allowed to make a winter or summer pelt if you do not already have one, as long as the markings are the same and there are no drastic color changes. Winter pelts have to be a washed out or muted versions of summer/spring pelt. You are also allowed to make some very minor marking changes, change the color of eyes/hair/ect, and change the color of the piercings. Again. No major changes, just enough to make the Willow fit you.
~ If we see a Willow not being used, I will note from either my CheebaeCheeks account or from the Willow.Species account to inquire why and to see what we can do for you to re-connect to your Willow or to re-home your Willow if decided upon.
Please note: You invested a fair amount into owning a Willow alone. Please use them, at least a little. Of course we cannot force an owner to use a Willow, but please be considerate over the fact that we love the Willows, a lot of thought was placed into the creation of the Willows and to keep them maintained as an active Closed species..
We are not asking you to get art 24/7 of your Willow, but at least once every few months if possible. But ANY breach of these terms and I will have the right to take back your Willow.
