So, you're interested in learning a bit more about this kitty-cat-fruit-bat, huh? Well, let's see what the tome holds, shall we~?

❤~ ©2009 ~❤Although I was forced to pick a single genre of art to belong to, I also work with 3D models and doodle from time to time alongside my writing! (Though it should be noted that the majority of even my finished projects don't usually wind up here.)
I am an avid role-player, and can be found daily on F-list typically RPing as various canon characters from several different series.
Pretty simple, but that's about it for this floof-tail~!

Back From Megaplex (G)

You know...I really should use this for more than just lurking and the occasional ref post... (I swear I do still actually check this site multiple times a day! >x<;)
That said, like this journal's title suggests, we are officially back home from Megaplex!
I honestly wasn't sure if I really needed to post a journal about it, or not, but I have been told that doing so will help me "grooooaaaaw", so here we are, lol.
Starting from the beginning, I went into this con knowing that it wasn't going to be like last year. For starters, last year was my first official con, and it was amazing on a level I don't honestly know can ever be topped. That said, this year was still fun, but much more laid back, I think - which was fine. We are all chill people, so it stands to reason. Unfortunately, there were a few things that really threw a monkey wrench in it for me, though.
First was the art I tried to purchase. The Dealer's Den opened at 11AM on Friday, and after perusing through all of my options, I settled on an artist that told me I would have a WIP later that evening, and - if all was correct - my badge would be laminated and ready to be picked up the next morning. That did not happen, and sufficed to say, by Sunday afternoon I asked for - and received - a full refund. I badly wanted some art of Grim and her mate Spooks, and I'm honestly more than a little bummed out that because I held out for that badge, I was unable to get any other art. So that really dampened my mood overall.
The second gear-grinder was the con staff member who pinned an "Animal in Heat" sticker to my chest at the babyfur meet n' greet on Saturday. I completely realize that they were joking around, however, I had gone out of my way to try to make myself look "pretty", and with all the self-conscious and image issues that I have, all I could think was "she thinks I look like a whore". Add this to the mamafur identity issues that I'm dealing with at the moment...and yeah... Also found out later that one of my mate's babs got "bathe" and "animal in heat" stickers stuck to his ass and the back of his shirt. None of the littles at that panel were smelly... Again, I know the staff member was just being "silly", but I know at least one of the people in that room had a really rough time getting to the con in the first place, and the look on his face as he peeled the "funny" sticker off of his shirt... My heart goes out to him, even now... Then, after posting about the incident on Twitter, we got a "not-apology", wherein we were told that Playbill was okay with what was going on, only to find out that he didn't even know. We have since been told that we should be seeing an official statement on the issue now that things have been explained better, so I'm curious to see what comes of that...
Aside from that, the atmosphere was mostly light and enjoyable. I got to spend time with some people I hadn't before, and it was wonderful getting to know them a bit more personally. I always wonder how many of those budding friendships will actually stick once the con is over, but I truly hope these do. The people I roomed with are all people I love very much - YOU'RE ALL A PART OF MY PSYCHOTIC FAMILY NOW, DEAL WITH IT!
Also, that Korean BBQ place that we went to on Sunday night was amazing - especially for the price. I'd definitely like to go there again next year, if we're able.
Summing this con up, there are definitely things I'd do differently, but overall, I just hope that next year will be better, and I think that's all I can really ask for. That said, how about I post our con hashtags here, seeing as they are a little too NSFW for Facebook, and there are too many for Twitter to handle? XD
