There's something on my mind these last few days about a certain topic that, in a way, is subjected to discussions quite a bit if you're the type of person who follows forums or people that discuss about all kinds of things... Going from silly ones to serious ones that affects people in one way or another; be it bad or good in each perspective it aims at.

Now, onto the actual matter, I've been thinking about how teenagers alike navigate through social media. Think about FA, reddit, X, Instagram, and other kinds of social media — all of them, or a majority, set the age to create an account, and be able to navigate through said social media, to 13 or 14, in some cases I've seen. As expected, owners of platforms, will aim towards reaching all age groups for obvious reasons, but, at the end of the day, will expose teens to content they're not supposed to engage with yet — even if they don't comment or reach out to people who post these types of things. Getting a reaction of said 'mature' content or simply looking at it means that they acknowledged it and that is, In a sense, how you engage with something, even if small, by acknowledging it.

The ones behind social platforms will try to make their app better — maybe by providing more security, maybe by trying to make things enjoyable for every age range, maybe by keeping it a safe space for everyone — if they even care about how these people engage with their platforms at all. With that said, by making your digital community enjoyable and safe to navigate, there will always be someone that will be exposed to something they aren't supposed to see, no matter how much you've put effort in.

Teens will be exposed to things as that is, when you think about it, part of growing up, even younger children too. That may be something that doesn't sound good, since it is, but when have you heard a teen not actively search or find on their own, intentionally or not, about something that falls into this category? Of something that they were not meant to see at their age? Some people may have had a childhood where they weren't exposed to things like this or have people around them that weren't either, but still, majority did experience this while growing up. The world may rate certain contents and products by age but that won't make it one hundred percent effective, and that's a fact everyone knows.

My vision on this topic is that people will always find things they don't necessarily like, are interested in, or engage with, regardless of age. The product will always find its way towards you rather than you searching for it.

I could add more, even add my own experiences regarding this, but I'll remain guarded about personal things involving my life due to quite obvious reasons, even if I really wanted to, since, in my opinion, that pulls the reader more into the matter being discussed, but again, that's something I personally think of. I may have... Lost track of what I originally wanted to exchange, but if this matter was interested to you, reader, then I don't really mind! I don't mean to make whoever reads this think deeply and seriously about this, this was just something I've been wanting to say for the past days, and I'm just glad I was able to.

People may not interact with me that much, as I make it clear I'm underage, but I'm glad I can share something I'm interested in, even if I don't get much from it.
