Be 18+ years old before chatting me up, please.

A journal, which no one reads of course, but one which is being written today anyway as a way to remind myself that I can in fact write thoughts out and hit the post button on other websites.

I'm tired of character limits, I'm tired of infinite scroll feeds, I'm tired of no one having a topic, no one having the interest, and no one having the attention to read something. I know you are too, because if you're reading this at all then you have at least the capacity to recognize that something seriously fucked has happened.

Rejection of modernity isn't an impulse that comes from nothing. I remember the first day I was back on a Twitter-Style social media feed, and I felt terrible. Genuinely, wind-out-of-my-sails terrible, because no one really wants to interact on the "social media" website. Everyone passively consumes our drivel, and that's what its become especially for US audiences: content to be mindlessly consumed and scrolled past after hitting the like button.

Bluesky's feed system is less toxic (overall) compared to Twitter and it is still DIRE. I hate that I've been conditioned for this shit, so I'm going to consciously start disengaging from it all. I don't know where to put my effort, but I'm thinking of trying to do something routine and procedural for community touchstone type stuff.

My high concept right now is "Amateur Hour", something where I will look for artists who are starting out and give them some kind of critique and highlight, talk about art and community, some shit like this. I don't even know the format. I have no formalized plan or even the most vague of idea, just a desire to break from the bullshit.

More on this idea later if I can commit to it somehow. There's so much I can't commit to anymore.
