RAM Shortages Driving Up Costs As Much as 500%... (G)
Here's a link to one of many articles detailing this scary development:
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/me.....any-time-soon/
And it doesn't stop there. This will have a trickle effect on prices for pretty much all hardware that uses RAM. Vis a vis, PCs and laptops. CyberPower has announced price increases on all their computers across the board staring December 7th. And while I don't like the concept of panic buying, the toilet paper fiasco being a key example of that during the Covid scare, this may be a different situation. At least toilet paper never went up in price. They were just scarce for a while. RAM and anything that uses RAM, including computers, laptops, smartphones, etc, will all likely see noticeable price increased up from already high prices.
So basically, if your computer is getting up there in age, and you have the money to afford one, I recommend NOT waiting for your current PC to kick the bucket. I would go out any buy a replacement now or really soon before they most likely jump sharply in price. Either way, I've seen how insane RAM prices have become and I'm not about to pay what could amount to hundreds more for a PC replacement that I could otherwise avoid in getting one sooner than later.
