Howdy,

The name is Jared Hodges, and I’m a comic book author and freelance illustrator.

Not so long ago I wrapped up work on the three volume graphic novel series, Peach Fuzz, for the manga publisher Tokyopop. The story revolved around a prissy little princess ferret name Peach, who often found herself in conflict with her 9 year old, human owner, named Amanda. Throughout the series, Peach deals with a number of ferret issues, and attempts to find her place in this bizarre human centered world.

Along with the comic jobs, I’ve picked up a couple of prizes, winning grand prize in TOKYOPOP’s Rising Stars of Manga contest, and placing as a finalist in Morning Magazine International Manga Contest with a short comic titled Last Dance.

Between comics, I’ve worked on a number of art tutorials for print and the web, including Painter tutorials for Corel Corporation, the book Digital Manga Workshop for ILEX press, and contributions to Mangaka America published by Harper Collins. I’m currently creating on a non-manga related tutorial book for IMPACT Press.
