Creation and expression are the license of the artist, but critique and aesthetics are solely the property of the philosopher.

A Reply to Starfinder (G)
This was a comment I intended on posting in response to Starfinder in her latest journal (found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/.....2/#cid:2810576), but she has banned this account from her userpage, presumably because she is too emotionally fragile to handle ethical criticism:
"Regarding your change in business strategy: Bravo! That is an effective and reasonable manner in which to resolve that particular issue. Now you need only endeavor to become calmer and less emotional regarding this sort of situation.
"I understand that you are angry, but I must stress that the moral dilemma at hand is entirely between your former customer and the individuals who caused them to change their mind about the purchase. In addition, the leap of judgment you've made in blaming them for your inability to buy a gift for your boyfriend is invalid: They are perhaps responsible for creating conditions to which your customer reacted by canceling the sale, but they did not deny you the money necessary to purchase said gift. Furthermore, it is possible that you could obtain the money by some other means, be it another sale or some other manner of earning money; and so it is not logically possible that your detractors are to blame for the present situation, even if they are to blame for exerting a certain degree of influence upon your customer.
"I'm not asking you to say that you condone their activities, but I do expect you to avoid stretching the truth, as you have done in placing the blame for your predicament with your boyfriend's gift on those who spoke harshly to your customer."
Starfinder, if you wish to continue this discussion, I would be happy to teach you proper ethical theory via comments to this journal entry.
ADDENDUM: Starfinder, the instructions for the Block List feature on the Fur Affinity control panel clearly read, "Block users who are being rude or malicious towards you. Blocked users will not be able to view your user page." As I have been neither rude nor malicious towards you, and because I sincerely mean you no harm, blocking me from your user page is an explicit abuse of the Block List feature.
ADDENDUM 2: Starfinder has deleted the journal entry in question, under the pretense that it has "served its purpose." I doubt that it will come as a surprise to anybody.
