In recent years the verb sense of dialogue meaning 'to engage in an informal exchange of views' has been revived. Although Shakespeare, Coleridge, and Carlyle used it, this usage today is widely regarded as jargon or bureaucratese.
Dialogue is a delicate process. Many obstacles inhibit dialogue and favor more confrontational communication forms such as discussion and debate. Common obstacles including fear, the display or exercise of power, mistrust, external influences, distractions, and poor communication conditions can all prevent dialogue from emerging.

FD Revival (G)
As of the New Year this group will be resuming topics on a regular basis. The premise will remain the same however the topics will take on a two-part structure. In other words a topic will be hosted and have feedback and discussion on that and then the next will be a follow-up of the initial discussion to create a platform for deeper thought into such.
I've been working on some topics to cover, but if anyone has ideas for topics then please feel free to head them up in this journal.
FD hopes you have had a good festive period and have a great New Year.
