I saw that quote as a caption on a meme, but it rings true. Wisdom from the gutter. Things are going to get harder for everyone, but do not give in to despair.
We are here. We're out in the open. Back in the early 1900's - the era these suited ghouls seem hellbent on returning to - gays were firmly in the closet. Even the notion of homosexuality was seen as alien, nevermind being transgender. Black People weren't even allowed to have sex with white people until 1967.

But we're out now. We're all here in the open. The dam's burst. The injustice that was once held as common sense by the people of those times is seen for what it truly is by the western world at large.
We know how freedom tastes. True freedom. Freedom to love, to live, to simply exist.

Clasping your hands over your head and pretending we don't exist won't work. From 1988 to 2003, the United Kingdom legally forbid schools from teaching the existence and acceptance of homosexuality. The conservatives here used the same strategies as yours, down to the exact wording. It didn't work in the slightest, surprise surprise. Because you cannot legislate living, breathing people out of existence.

It was much easier for them to sweep minorities under the floorboards, before we were in everyone's eyes. Before the age of interconnectedness we exist in now. But the genie's out of the bottle now.
I'm not trying to claim that everything will resolve itself. It's going to be a fight. It's going to be difficult.
But in the general scope of history, we've won every war they've waged to stamp us out of existence.

Remember that when things get tough. Remember the strength, diligence and persistence of the people who came before you, and follow their example.
Be present, be as vocal as you can, be out there, and organise, both in terms of labour and in terms of class.
