Okay... I'm not so much of a "writer" as a "word artist". I couldn't write a plot to save my life.
I'm told I'm really good with descriptive writing. Probably the biggest pieces of creative writing I've produced are room and character descriptions for MUCKs. If you'd like me to design and compose something, feel free to drop a message. I'm a MUCK-smith, so I can do dynamic stuff (MPI FTW), coherent zones, etc. My work can be found on FurScape MUCK (I wrote much of the ground level of the Sagdeev City residential section (if they've opened it up), and you can try to get Snowfur to show you hir chakat cycle timer).

Well... Anthrocon is over, and it's been fun. I think I've managed to avoid exposure to con crud, but I'll probably know around mid-week.
I spent most of my time at the convention center in the Writing room, although I did (slightly guiltily) skip a few of the writing track panels. I'm really not intending to write anything worthy of sending to a publisher. After last year, I don't think you could have kept me away from Sardyuon's performance with free food AND a date. (Seriously... If you would have gone with me on a date at that hour that WASN'T Sardyuon's show, you're absolutely nutters. The guy's AMAZING.)
I went to the Iron Author “winner's” announcement and reading. I'm tempted to enter next year, but I'm not sure I could intentionally write something that would warrant shots of vodka being part of the final score. I think I may be partially immune to having my childhood ruined by not having watched enough cartoons as a kid.
The Chakat Nom and Yap was fun, getting to meet some of the other chakat-kin. The restaurant messed things up a bit (I think that other table in the corner was still empty, so I'm not entirely sure why they couldn't seat all of us). But the noms were good, as was the conversation.
Today I was something of a bad kitty and had Ben and Jerry's as one of my Dorsai-recommended two meals (I had the standard-issue coupon from the supersponsor packet, and was moderately pressed for time between panels. Not to mention I didn't want to miss out before they closed at 7PM.) If I'd known that the coupon wasn't a single-use item, I probably would have stopped in more frequently.
The recent DOMA and Proposition 8 rulings came up a few times, with several presenters mentioning that they can FINALLY get married after having gotten engaged in years past. I'm happy for them, but it kind of rubbed in my chronic lack of a real-world relationship. I love Jyoumon, my Mate of the Heart, but I really do want to find a real-world partner. If I were into males physically, I'd have shipped him up to New England, and if I were female we'd probably have a kid by now. But I often say, “I have proof that being gay isn't a choice: if it was, I would be.”
So, I might as well throw myself out there:
30 year old, affectionate male seeking female in eastern Massachusetts or southern New Hampshire. Must like cats and hugs. Being somewhere more or less between Nashua, NH and Boston, MA is a plus (that's my current commute).
Gender-wise, I consider my masculine and feminine sides fairly integrated (I never really took much stock in gender roles). I tend to identify “mixed”, but presenting as my physical gender is convenient in the real world. Jyoumon can attest to the fact that my feminine side tends to be more dominant in online interactions.
Anyway... Making the long drive back to MA tomorrow. Then back to the work on Tuesday.
