Okay i finished checking, since friends of mine keep wanting to do art and get paid, but also if they can they wish to give as little as possible to their government for this bullshit.

Now. There are 2 ways in which artists end up unwittingly funding the war effort.
- Paying taxes, that is *cough* unavoidable *cough* (i am legally bound to say that, it would be illegal to say otherwise *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* )
- Platform cuts that go directly to funding the war effort. I will be examining this here.

Let's start with the big looming thing: most clients won't even pay you if you do not use Paypal. So let's immediately get one thing is out of the way. Paypal is a well known and established firm. Does Elon Musk (the "big shot" in the company, though not technically the owner anymore since 2002) fund the russian war effort? Allegedly... no? Or not in any big capacity (no "direct cut" kind of thing). Yes, Elon is well known for being ideologically aligned with the russian oligarchs, but Elon has reduced his participation in Paypal to 11.3% as of 2002, so he may make a show but he ain't giving much even if he gifted his revenue to the russian oligarchs and I doubt that is the case, Elon really likes his money, it's his Linus blanket. I doubt he is giving actually useful money to the oligarchs.

With that out of the way, let's check the main ways in which Artists today in Russia get paid:
- Hypolink. Part of VK, and therefore directly funds the war effort. If you can, avoid this.
- Boosty. Part of VK, and therefore directly funds the war effort. If you can, avoid this.
- EasyStaff (ex EasyStart) is a Lithuanian company, thus subject to European Union laws. BUT has ongoing investigations because it has collusions with the russian oligarchs. The investigations are not over yet therefore they may prove they have no connection, but... eh...
- Lava.top. Currently the least problematic option. It's a Cyprus-based company (thus subject to EU laws like EasyStaff which is lithuanian) and does not (to this day) have any known connections to the russian oligarchs.
