Hey everyone!

Well, I figured since I still haven't officially uploaded any art (my bad ^^;), I should at least put out the progress that I've made so far.

Life has been absolute chaos. Being a full-time student at my age has me feeling like I’m constantly running a marathon. Between that and accidentally falling into a scientific diving course (long story), I’m barely keeping my head above water (badum tsss). But, now I’m officially a certified scientific diver! It was tough, but totally worth it.

In other news, I’m almost done with summer classes, thankfully, so I’ll have about three glorious weeks of freedom to finally get some art out there. Can't wait to create more.

But without further ado, here is my updated fursona! She's a Komodo Dragon with markings inspired by the perentie monitor lizard, red-eyed crocodile skink, and the Asian water monitor. There are so many beautiful reptiles out there that I love to death, but these are some of my favorites of all time.

I did have a bit of a fursona crisis at first. I knew the old one just wasn’t me anymore, so I tried a few concepts. I may upload some art of the scrapped one later on. She's cool, just didn’t give me that “YES, this is IT” feeling. Then after brainstorming a bit, the Komodo character came up, and I knew she was the one. I’ve always loved them, and we have so much in common. Like, they’re all about that sun-basking life, which is totally me. Plus, their hunger is legendary, and I can’t deny, I’m a fan of good meals, almost as if it’s my entire motivation for getting up in the morning ;V. She’s fun, flirty, and unapologetically fierce.

Weight training is another hobby of mine, so it just makes sense that I’d pick such a powerhouse of a creature. I mean, have you seen the thunder thighs on those guys in the wild? Plus, Komodos have that “nerdy” side with their high intelligence (shout out to the genus Varanus for being the smartest lizards out there!), kinda like how I feel about molecular biology, chemistry, and everything else that gets my brain buzzing.

She also fits so well because I’ve always had a thing for reptiles, ever since I was a kid. I even owned six snakes at one point, which honestly were the best pets I’ve ever had. They’re such misunderstood creatures, and I want to give that love a little more spotlight.

Now, I’m officially a scalie! Oops, lol. But I’m super excited to share this version of my fursona with you all.

I’m also intending to take on some little commissions after school ends this month, so hopefully that pans out. I’m intending to do some icons or simple portraits that I can easily manage without too much stress. I’d love to draw people’s characters soon. I also have some sona ideas to put out there that I love, so maybe adoptable too?? Yeah, that makes me excited. Can’t wait to draw more and hope everyone is doing well. I know life is a little bit like a caffeinated weasel for everyone right now, but you got this! Be the weasel whisperer that I know you are!
