At the end of everything, hold on to anything.

While I have certainly aged out of NitW, I am not so blinded by aging cynicism to overpower nostalgia. On top of that, even in my dislike of certain aspects of the game, I would be remiss not to acknowledge the nuggets of gold hidden within the mixed sweet-bag.

This fandom’s a mess. Like. Really. A bloody show of wretched nonsense. Through this fandom, I’ve felt more pain than I’d even consider possible otherwise. I’ve been battered by toxic influences, torn to pieces by my own stupidity, and even subjected to high-school level drama by people OLDER than me in their thirties.

And yet.

And yet and yet and yet.

Through this fandom, I’ve also met people I would consider family. People that I don’t know how I could continue without. Affection and support that I am completely undeserving of.

Light and dark. Comedy and tragedy. Two sides. Same coin.

Pff. We’re all adults here. Let’s all try to act like it. In spite of everything, we’re still here. In this world, we only got each-other. And you know what? Maybe that’s good enough.
