I'm so fekkin' tired.

So Patreon is obviously testing the waters on how much GenAI bullshit they want to integrate, given some recent polls that went around in creators circles.

At this point, whether or not they actually implement anything, I do want to start investigating or setting up alternate hosting for paywalled content. The comic mostly just finances its own existence (commissioning artists, running limited print runs, attending SAFC 2024 and 2025) and there's a handful more years to go before the story wraps, so the cashflow helps.

I used to update ko-fi more back in the day, but traffic there was always low and the tools on the backend less sophisticated (although, that being said, Patreon keeps FUCKING with the backend in ways that make it so annoying to use, and yet I've been requesting a calendar view of scheduled posts since 2021). But so far it is the most likely candidate for me to go back in there and do some serious maintenance.

Are there any platforms you as a reader/patron find yourself using that are worth investigating?

Yeesh, time flies when you're frantically drawing a comic buffer... we're somehow at the halfway mark for the REVENANTS hiatus?

I've got some good questions in the works for the next couple of videos! So if you have any you want me to answer in video format before comics resume as usual, be sure to ask over here on the google form!

So I've applied to have a booth at SAFC 2025 and I'm quietly confident I'll get to sell the comic there again this year!

Last year the first book was a big hit, and I'm looking to get book two ready and printed by September.

So aside from books, what sorta merch would YOU buy if you were coming all the way out to a fur con? I say this as someone who wants cool shit on the table on the day, but also as someone who wants to maybe make a bundle of items for Patrons later this year?

I'm currently linking out to where I'm posting the comic there for now. Ultimately I'd like to build and host my own site but that's a way off still.

I mentioned this in a couple places before, but I'm looking to take a brief hiatus between chapters 10 and 11 of Revenants to build up my buffer a bit!

In the gap I'm hoping to feature fanart (so send it if you have it!) and also do some Q&A's!

I'm thinking of having the answers be read out over video WIPS of the comic, so it will be a video upload for weeks I have enough questions!

Haha, didn't think I'd be posting this kinda journal, being a fandom lurker my whole life 😅

But yeah I have table at South Africa Fur Con 2024 Dealer's Den! I'll selling Revenants Book 1, as well as associated merch, and hopefully some original prints!

More to follow, but like... if you could get to SAFC this year... what would hope to see on my Dealer's table? I'm brainstorming like crazy but this is my first furry specific event!

So I've been mulling on this a little while, and while I still have just under a year of buffer on comic uploads, I am considering a brief drawing hiatus after I complete art on Chapter 10. Which I am in fact currently illustrating. But I would love to push that buffer back to the other side of a year of posts prepared 😅

But yeah, burnout is real, so I'd like to avoid getting too burned out.

But what I am thinking is instead of comic for those couple catch up weeks, I'm thinking of maybe doing some video Q&A's or something? I want to set up a submission for questions, with Patron questions getting preference? Because then I can just ramble at the camera while drawing and grab the good stuff 😂 I'm far too self conscious to livestream anyway!

Alternatively, if you have any fanart I can feature it on my hosts while I take a break for a few weeks there, so that could be cool?

Then after that I can hopefully get going on the back half of the script, and have another run of strips until the story wraps at the end of Chapter 20!

I had a handful of stickers available with the purchase of my comic (still available for purchase beeteedubs) and far and away the most popular one was my Todd, Bluey-fied design.

So I wanna make a few more of those. So do I do the whole cast as Bluey designs, or do I riff on other famous anthro/furry characters?

Like the title says. May open this week for a few commission slots. But I'm likely to share a Google form for submissions, rather than open call in a journal. So I dunno, keep an eye out for that? As usual, Patrons of get discounted prices!

Anyone got recommendations for artists who do music commissions? I know there’s more than a handful of talented furry musicians but I’m not in that loop 😅

I have a very specific sound in mind and I have a comic adjacent project that could do with a soundtrack.
But the sound I’m looking at is not all that common on music libraries who offer affordable individual licences. I ain’t subscribing to Epidemic sound for a single track 🤷‍♂️

So people are real wary about Patreon at the moment huh?

As such my Ko-Fi has been fully reworked to be a Revenants content mirror. All links to my Ko-Fi have been appropriately updated if that’s more your speed. And the archive will all be up to date tomorrow, and thereafter it will be updating as a mirror to Patreon. Unfortunately sans blog posts, and my thoughts on The Conspiracy will be limited to Patreon. Copying that much text just wasn’t feasible unfortunately. So for now Patreon has more of my thoughts written down, but Ko-Fi has all the other behind the scenes and full colour art that Patreon has on the same tier structure!

I considered making a SubscribeStar, but that’s enough archive moving for me for a while…

So after a lot of murmering online of general unhappiness with Patreon, I am in the process of mirroring most of my Patreon content on KoFi!

It for the most part has the same perks as Patreon, so I know that may be more appealing to some readers!

So as I’ve mentioned here, Patreon and on Discord, I’m busy setting up a print ready version of the comic to try out on Drive Thru Comics print in demand service!

And in much of the same vein as some of my favourite print comics, I’d kinda like to showcase fan made creations.

If you’ve been sitting on a piece of fanart or have one already complete you’d like included, please let me know! I’d love to feature it in the afterword to the print versions of the first five chapters!

It's not the most exciting content wise, but I've been laying out Revenants Chapters 1-5 for a potential print on demand(!!!) service, making minor copy corrections and updates to suit the new format. Just poking through inDesign and listening to whatever.

If that's something interesting I could let y'all know when I'm busy? It'll be weird CAT times, so more convenient for my European followers than my American fans.
