Returned Early
General | Posted a week agoSo, unfortunately, that new job didn't work out so well. Not to worry; I wasn't fired or anything. I just... really didn't like it.
Working rotations - weeks on weeks off - is something I did in the past, and they were fine - certainly damn good money. But... I was unhappy. Being on this job reminded me of some things - such as why I wanted out of that, because working through the entire night can result in long, lonely hours. Working away at a camp, you miss out on simple luxuries that you might've taken for granted; simple things like coming home after work, cracking open a beer, cuddling with your cat and/or playing games with your friends, and ending it by sleeping in your own bed.
The camp itself was amazing; no question. There were luxuries there that previous camps never had... but I couldn't enjoy them. Dry camp; no alcohol, so my light beer or lager was off-limits. I worked nights, so during the day the place was practically empty and my co-workers were all sleeping, so i practically had this big space all to myself - even if any of them liked the same things I did they wouldn't be around for it. The food was really good - although maybe too good as I might've overindulged as it is; I can feel I put on a teensy bit of weight even over just 10 days >.>. And then the shifts... I had a co-worker on the same hours but we worked different posts and only saw each other briefly, so I'd still be finding ways to pass the night by. Pre-downloaded TV shows and Audiobooks only offer so much I'm afraid xP.
Yeah... I may have squandered an opportunity to make some real money... but money alone doesn't bring you happiness. So, I'm at peace with this choice; I just need to find another way to make up for it.

Going away for a few weeks
General | Posted 3 weeks agoSo, been a while... seems I'm becoming less active on FA all the time.
Anyway, so, I've been asking my company for raise for quite a while as the post I was at previously was easily far more dangerous than they ever made it out to be. Instead of giving me a raise, they're transferring me back to rotational work which I used to do. So, I start there tomorrow, heading out first thing In the morning. I have to admit, it's not what I expected, but we'll see what it brings. Either way I definitely get my raise, hehe.
So, I'll be gone until the 23rd of April - back just in time for my mom's birthday, go figure.

Where is the Sentinels 'Kingdoms' verse?
General | Posted a month agoSo, to those of you in the know, I made a spinoff series of Sentinels way back when - before it went by that name, when they were still called 'Os-Nadarra' - I don't even remember why I chose that name >_> - and there have been 5 short story entries to the franchise, with a few art pieces. As with the original Sentinels, Volcan (Phoenix) is featured as a main character, serving as a guardsman and a member of the standing army of the city-state of Avolon, and co-starring alongside characters by
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven who provided his character as the heir apparent to Avolon's throne.
To avoid spoilers I won't delve into too much about what has happened in the story so far. The premise is an alternative timeline where people have remained in largely isolated city states, most of which are mono-racial (not monocultural as a culture and race are not the same thing) like Avolon being a city of Avians, and later Lycanthria being exclusively dominated by wolves with other races under theirs being indentured. Most if not all cities would be very singular in their focus; some would be economic titans, some advancing technology beyond what others achieve, but every single city-state would be unique, and stand out as their own entities; no countries or empires, just small kingdoms. This was the idea.
But I have been struggling to get back to the series, because I was never 100% clear on whether it was a fantasy world or modern Earth in an alternate timeline. In either case, it's resulted in multiple plotholes - especially in roleplays I did in this universe, which blended cultures into places where they never could have existed. Since then, my motivation to work on the story has ground to a screeching halt...
What I need to do is refine this world... I worry that this may end up in me restarting the story, but either way I need a proper world map for both my reference and those of the reader(s). Sadly, until I can find some way to do this, the series may not be continuing... one of these days I need to sit down with a pencil and paper and try to sketch out a proper world map, believable as an alternate earth but not ripping off modern geography that I'm constantly getting wrong anyway x.x. Plus, if they were using their modern equivalent locations, again, these cultures could never meet. As mentioned above, they'd all be following different inspirations.
So for the time being the series will remain on hold... I don't want to just completely remove it but I'm not finding any reasonable means to continue it.

Big Update to the Sentinels Timeline Graph
General | Posted 3 months agoFor those of you who read the Sentinels series, the TImeline graph created by
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven - has recently been updated, once again by its creator, to include the new chapters previously published in the year 2024.
If you follow this series but haven't favourited the Timeline Graph just yet, follow the link below to access it, or re-favourite it if you wish to do so! New story will follow, written and uploaded throughout the course of this year, once again by myself,
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven and
Korban and featuring characters originally made by

Welcome 2026!
General | Posted 3 months agoSo we bid farewell to yet another year. I'm sure I'm not the only one to say, I have high hopes for the year to come.
Recounting of 2025
An excellent year for fanfictions, as
Korban and I release our sequel series to Team Valiant, following the story of Team Blitzkrieg - taking the torch from their parents and beginning their journey to become legends themselves.
Also this year, my Digimon Fanfiction series, Digimon Brotherhood, honouring my return to that fandom after being away from it for over 20 years, finding it's even more fun than I remembered, introducing numerous new characters, including Maximus the Veemon.
Plans for 2026
Well, as we leave behind another year of FanFiction works, we return to the Sentinels once again, joint-project by myself,
Korban and
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven . Volcan MacAingeal, Korban and Avogadro Lo'Raven and all those with them shall return soon. Our next step, now that Calhoun Demonfire has appeared, the villains of the series will get a little spotlight as the Overlords emerge, and begin their reign of terror.
As for novel projects, I have two in mind:
The third entry in the Fallen Kingdoms of Baruun series - This series has been on hiatus the last couple of years; I left Broken Pact with several unresolved sub-plots and this next entry should focus on addressing some of those plots. I wrote this series for this fandom, and the first book - Broken Shackle, is my best-selling book as of yet. This series has life in it still.
Historical Fiction/Horror - My first step into these genres, combining them together for a chilling, thrilling tale taking place in the Klondike Gold Rush of the Yukon, set in 1899. This will be my first time setting a story in a real-life location and time period, and I aim to do this right. Hopefully, by taking a holiday in Dawson City itself, where the events of the Gold Rush unfolded, and where this story will take place.
Well, that's all for now. Here's to welcoming the year 2026!

Favourite games of 2025 (As of November)
General | Posted 5 months agoYeah, after my last two journals bave been... less than optimistic, I figure, screw it; I may as well make something a little more on the positive side. My top 5 favourite games of the year.
To be clear, some of these will have been released in previous years, but I only got to them or found myself playing them more often than not this year. Since I change up my favourite video games fairly often, I figure it's better just to do this than to keep favourites listed on my profile as they'll just get updated again.
I also won't place XCOM 2 on this list; even though I did play through it again this year, let's face it; until a 3rd one comes out, nothing can surpass it - although I did get Aliens: Dark Descent recently which is supposed to play similarly, so, we'll see once I get to it.
I'll be ordering these by the games I've put the most time into, combined with the ones I really wanted to get back to day by day.
#1: Age of Wonders 4
Turn-based strategy, such a wide variety of customization options, tailored to an expansive fantasy world that receives new content on the regular. This game just scooches ahead of Sid Meier's Civilization VII just by virtue of having more features available for players, such as the aforementioned customization options allowing me to faithfully recreate many of my characters here on FA, and factions tailored to each of them; I've sunk more hours into this game than any other this year by far. With the recent release of Vampires a hero-type you can have, this game's not going to be surpassed anytime soon~.
Just wish the community would play without that god-awful 'evolved' mod so I could find more people to play it with :/.
#2: Sid Meier's Civilization VII
While it was surpassed by Age of Wonders 4, like that, this one is a turn-based strategy title, but more on the historical side than fantasy - as is typical of the games of this series. This one comes out ahead of its predecessors by giving you a little more freedom of choice; you aren't locked in to specific leaders anymore, and you can give them something called 'momentos' to tailor your own strategy a little more. The day may never come that I ever beat
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven at this game, buuuut... I have gotten pretty close a few times.~
#3 - Mass Effect Legendary Trilogy
I cheat; there are 3 games in this mix, and all of them originally released years ago, but I received the whole trilogy in the Legendary Edition as a gift - thanks,
Korban ! - and have been replaying through them; just beat 2 earlier this week at the time of posting this and just started 3. I had honestly forgotten just how immensely fun these games are; the cover mechanics have not aged... too well, but they're still passable, and the pleasure of leading my own squad into combat on missions will always appeal~.
#4 Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
Aside from the #3 entry this is probably the oldest game to appear on here. It wins out over the #5 spot by having a longer, more engaging story and more likeable NPC's. Plus, inspiring me to start up the new fanfiction series, Digimon: Brotherhood! This was the game that got me back into Digimon as a franchise and slowly won me over, along with 2020 anime reboot, which shows that Bandai Namco is not shy about serious storytelling - though to be fair, the next entry definitely was a close second on this front.
#5: Pokemon Legends Z-A
Probably the newest title to appear on this list; it fell back to #5 because even though the game itself was GREAT, even better than Legends Arceus which was amazing too, there is more content still coming out for it, so the game still has room to improve even more. Unfortunately, it also loses points by having some of the least likeable NPC's that the series has produced since X and Y - the fact that this one takes place in Kalos as well well is purely coincidental I promise! But some of the rival characters are just so annoying I wouldn't lose any sleep over one of them getting hit by a runaway car... or rampaging Rampardos >_>. (Pink-hairedfairybitchmust DIE)

Shut down my Twitter/X Account (Slightly ranty)
General | Posted 5 months agoFirst journal in months... sorry to say it's not better than the last.
Twitter/X - whatever the fuck you want to call it... I've had it up to my eyeballs with that platform...
Every time I go on there, it's always politics this, racism that, pronouns this, misogynist that, white-supremacist this, or toxic masculinity this or female supremacy that - oh FUCK OFF, the lot of you; keep your ignorance in incompetence off my feed! You are all of you equal in my mind... equally RAGE-inducing!
I don't need to be reminded constantly about why the world is FUBAR; I see it enough when I turn on a fucking TV. I don't need to see human parasites trying to con people for money or coloured-hair karens screaming their heads off at anyone who tries to point out what they're doing wrong - I work in a government office; I see people like that every day of my life!
The writing community there just... truly feels dead, too. For a while, it felt quite alive; there were Writer's Lifts going on, people posting about their books every single day, hoping for some retweets and some exposure for their hard work. I even found a few books that way myself. It felt like a real community! But after months of the same thing, it just started to feel like nobody really cared... Now I don't even see Writer's Lifts anymore - just more of the trash I mentioned above.
So, as tired as it is to say this, it's just become toxic as fuck and I want nothing to do with it anymore. But frankly... where is it not anymore? I'm legit having trouble finding anywhere.

Thinking I need some time away...
General | Posted 10 months agoWhen I say 'away', I mean away from the internet, away from technology - as much as I can get away with.
I feel like something is missing... Something that I'm not finding through the vastness of the internet; I don't know what that is, yet. What I do know is, that it's lost in the infinite data ocean and I'm never going to find it there. All the information readily available out there, it's overwhelming, and oversaturated with politics, woke bullshit, people doing dumb shit day after day... Yeah, social media may be the best well to sell my books, but let's see it for what it really is; a cesspool.
I don't know how I'm going to do this, or when... But I strongly feel like I need... Maybe to remember what it means to actually 'live' and not just fucking 'exist' anymore.

I've become a massive hypocrit...
General | Posted 10 months agoSo, I make it no secret I've been using ChatGPT to assist me with some of my writing; entirely proofreading and minor edits. I do not, and will not ever, use it to write the stories for me. I have no right to call myself an author if it is not by my hand I bring my stories to life.
However... I've also been playing around with image generation. Trying to just get some ideas that I've never been able to afford to commission - or at least, certainly haven't over the last couple of years. Ever since AI in general - especially AI Art, started becoming so commonplace it was appearing everywhere, I resented it. I wanted to see it crash and burn... So that real artists - REAL talent, would never be sidelined.
Yet tonight, while playing around with image generation, I succeeded in creating the best image of my werewolf character, Asya, that I've ever seen; link here, to a google doc showing her. https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/.....it?usp=sharing
The amount any artists here would charge for this quality and detail would be... Staggering, on my current budget, yet I was able to do it with a character ref and a few detailed descriptions, and there she is. While I've seen AI Art can't remain consistent enough for comic strips... The fact that doing this is so easy - and so inexpensive - I literally paid NOTHING for this, has made me realize it's already too late... I've already fallen into the trap...
To all FA artists... I'm sorry... I want to support art by the hands of talented creators... But now...
Now I don't know what to think anymore...

Had to make a hard choice last night...
General | Posted 11 months agoSo, on Thursday, I took my cat in to the vet because I could tell something was wrong. She was behaving very differently; drinking more water, and often sitting in the middle of the room, meowing randomly - seemingly at nothing and no one. Over the past few months as well she'd developed a raspy meow and frequent sneezing. I read that these were sign of health conditions, so I took her in. They did some bloodwork...
She was diabetic...
I knew that this was the end off the bat... Even if I could've afforded the insulin she'd have needed, she never would've been happy with the treatment; she hated being held or manhandled in any way. Besides, I didn't feel that being diabetic was any way for a cat to live... So, I made a choice...
I had to take the night to come to terms with the fact she's gone. Sleep didn't come easily... Sleeping without her beside me, and waking up without her by my feet was... Just so alien to me.
I'm going to miss her terribly... She may have drove me nuts sometimes, but I still loved her...
Rest in peace, Nephthys.

2025 is here
General | Posted a year agoToday marks the end of another long year, and the start of one we all have high hopes for.
Today was supposed to be the release of my new book, Secrets of the Lost Kingdom, but I ran into a snag so it might be delayed one more day. No, my friend who I know is reading this I did not forget a character name like I did with Broken Shackle xP. No, this was more Kindle's fault. I was told, explicitly, that I had until the 28th of December to make any corrections needed. The only thing that was missing was a photo of myself on the back of the book, so on the 27th of December I went to add that... And it was already locked down and I could not edit xP. I don't think any copies have been sold yet and I've already corrected it, so new copies going forward will have the completed book cover.
Besides that, we are returning to the Pokémon fan-series this year. In 2023, Korban and I completed the Team Valiant series... Or did we? Yes, the titular team has one more arc coming... Before we move on to their successors. I hope you all are looking forward to that, because I know I am >:)
Alright then! Let's get right into 2025 ladies and gents; there's a lot to do and only one year to do it! Let's make it happen!

2025 Plans
General | Posted a year agoThe year is reaching its end. One week remains before we leave 2024 behind.
On January 1st, I am releasing a new novel via Kindle Direct/Amazon publishing. It is titled Secrets of the Lost Kingdom: Book One; the first of a duology. I had intended it to be one big book that I hoped to publish, but it grew too big for me to publish it all as one story, so it will be two instead.
This also marks the end of this year's work on the Sentinels series; my friends
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven and
Korban have, as always, helped me make the series a thriller! As we head into the new year,
Korban and I will be bringing the continuing story in the world of Team Valiant! Be on the look out for:
Pokémon: Team Valiant Arc # Team Vanguard
AND
Pokémon: Team Blitzkrieg Arc 1: New Heroes
Pokémon is getting a new Legends game next year too; and I for one am looking forward to seeing what they've come up with!
We head into 2025... It's been another long year for many of us. But we've pushed forward and the world keeps turning. We all hope that things will get brighter in the new year... But that will be up to us.
To all my fans, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
To my fellow Canadians, Fuck Trudeau, and let's make the true north strong and free again.
To my fellow writers and readers, hoping you all have a lucrative year coming up!

One year ago today...
General | Posted a year agoI published the second entry of my ongoing series, Fallen Kingdoms of Baruun. While it hasn't sold as well as Broken Shackle, Broken Pact has still done okay for the most part. I even managed to sell out of copies at the farmer's market earlier this month, when I introduced the two books in a bundle deal.
Now, today, I am on the cusp of publishing another book I have been working on - this one is not part of the Fallen Kingdoms of Baruun series, but is still a fantasy story. I don't know how many from the furry community will be interested in this one but I hope plenty of interested readers will be on the lookout for Secrets of the Lost Kingdom: Book 1
My original plan with this book in particular was to make it all one, big novel, but it was just getting too big for me to publish through Kindle, due to their page limit of 550, of which I've only written half the planned story and it's already almost 400 pages; I knew the additional two parts would exceed the limit, so I will have to publish it as a duology instead, and hope eventually a publisher reaches out to me interested in doing an entire print of the full story when it's done x3.
I hope those of you who are interested will be on the lookout for this book; I'm going to be publishing it via Kindle Direct any day now, so it will be available on Amazon shortly! I will be doing both a hardcover and paperback version for this time. I am also proud to announce I am introducing a hardcover version of Broken Pact, for those who prefer a more solid book as opposed to a flimsy paperback.
Keep reading, and enjoy!

New job! Old job? Either way, I got a job again!
General | Posted a year agoI finally found a new job again. As irony would have it, it's once again my old company that's hiring me back, but this time for a local position, and not one that'll take me a whole province away. Either way, I am employed once again.
In other news... I'm close to publishing my next book. This one won't be part of the Fallen Kingdoms of Baruun series, so it will not be promoted on this or any other furry websites, but it is truly the best story I've ever written. I know I said that about Broken Pact about a year ago but overtime I've come to realize that was not my greatest work. This one, for sure, will be. I hope everyone will consider picking up a copy when it comes out!

Been a LONG time since this happened...
General | Posted a year agoSo, my employment at my new job today was terminated. Apparently, I just wasn't learning or moving as fast as they would've preferred... I know speed is important in retail, so I can understand if I was moving too slow... I seriously thought I was finally getting the hang of the job... But, it appears I was not.
I've never been fired before... At least not since my first job when I was fifteen, but that was justified considering I punched out my supervisor's kid brother (I was a tempermental teen and this guy was making my life hell; I still do not regret doing that.) But this job... This I thought I was finally getting the hang of... But, I understand speed is paramount for a retail store, especially with Black Friday and the holidays closing in. Still... I wish they could've at least come speak to me in advance, let me know this possibility was coming and that I needed to improve in some ways... But, I guess they saw I was a lost cause; I probably did something wrong that made their decision.
Nevertheless, I'm glad they at least gave me a chance. More than other employers have... But, this puts me in a very bad spot...
Wish me luck, everybody.

The Passing of Dragoneer
General | Posted a year agoEveryone is speaking of it... So, I feel it is only right I chime in as well.
To be honest, I didn't know Dragoneer very well. I can only count on one hand the number of times I actually spoke to him, being when I was being threatened by another FA user about 15 years back. I never had any reason to talk to him again after that, but took my concerns about this user seriously and ensured that they were dealt with in a timely fashion. But that's the only time I ever spoke to him; we never really engaged. Another time, when a troll was going after one of my friends, I informed him about and present proof of their misconduct, and they were likewise dealt with in a timely manner... Really, I only spoke to him when I had issues with other users, but he saw to it they were resolved.
That being said... I know he was the owner and creator of this Website, and I have many fond memories here. Many of my closest friends, past to present, I met here on FurAffinity, with a shared interest in art and anthropomorphic characters leading to a number of projects, collaborations and ongoing ideas I look forward to the day I can explore...
So to Dragoneer, let us raise a cup and thank him for this gift of this website that he gave us.
Rest in Peace...

Updates
General | Posted 2 years agoWow, been a little while since I did a journal, hasn't it?
So, I don't know if I mentioned it before, but back in February, I started school to take a course in supply chain management, aiming for a career change. I've been a career security guard for over a decade, and I'll be honest, I've been wanting to move away from that for a while. Two months of class later, I completed the course, and it was back to job hunting. When I took the course - on a government grant, no less, because I was told that supply chain or related topics (Logistics, Inventory/Warehousing, Transportation, etc) were all industries in high demand, so you'd think that when I graduated I'd find a job easily, right?
Nope.
For whatever reason, I applied for jobs everywhere, with an updated resume and cover letters tailored specifically for the jobs I was applying for. But the problem is, big job-search sites use algorithms now to sort through resumes they receive, and those algorithms are looking for specific keywords - which, it is impossible to know what keywords they're looking for. Over all that time I have only had 2 interviews; one of them was with Canada National Railway, but I wasn't chosen, and the second was for a hot tub installation company in my hometown, which was not guaranteed full-time hours and would have only been seasonal.
Go figure though, last month my old job called me back; they got a renewed contract from June until October, possibly until November. Well that'll give me enough to pay off the debt I've accrued being unemployed for 7 months, and enough hours to apply for EI again at the end of it. But, I'm still applying for jobs, even having one now, and so far I've not even had a call.
So, wish me luck, all. And, hopefully I'll have more stories to post soon. Things have been going a little slow but they'll get there.
Later all!

Shift of priorities
General | Posted 2 years agoI posted this on my Discord server already, but as most of my fanbase is also here on FA and SoFurry I felt I should post it here and there too.
I feel I am overdue in announcing this... But I'm in some trouble this year. We're almost halfway through it, and I have been unemployed since before Christmas last year; I've been on EI since then.
I won't fill you all with too much, but I have reached a point where failure is no longer an option. I'm in trouble. So this could negatively affect further chapters of the Sentinels or, depending on how long this goes on, even the Fanfictions next year - including the sequel series to Team Valiant, but I must work harder than ever now to try to find a way out of this trouble.
I've gone to school, and am taking work experience to secure a reference. I've even applied for some freelance jobs - the first was a scam; be wary of anything from Freetours.com if you're looking for freelance work yourselves - I almost fell into that trap >.>. But this next one as a Freelance editor could be promising. My brother is also trying to help me find a job as well, in the fields I have training in.
Either way, my priorities must shift for now. I must focus on projects that have profit potential; I'm afraid my free stories don't really get me anything beyond the pleasure of writing them alongside my friends and the gratification of my readers, which is a delight for me ^^, but it's something that will have to decrease in priority for now.
Wish me good luck, my friends. I must press on; I won't give up.

What is the term for it; Fave Bots?
General | Posted 2 years agoIf that's not a term I'm making it one xP.
Ever had submissions get favourited, and when you go to thank the person who did, you look at their gallery and... There's nothing. They have no avatar, they have an empty gallery, few watchers of their own and a swollen gallery of favourite submissions that're each only minutes apart. It's just plainly obvious to me that these favourites were by bots.
What is the point of these bots? Are they just there to give us a misplaced sense of accomplishment xP?

Book signing event today!
General | Posted 2 years agoAlright! I've waited all month for this day, and been fighting a cold this week to make sure I'm ready for this. I'm hosting my first book signing event at a book store in Red Deer, Alberta... I've been stressing over this for weeks, hoping I'm really ready for it, but now the day has come and it's time to do this!
Wish me luck!

Teaser opening for Sentinels
General | Posted 2 years ago“…The essence of the Chaotic One has awakened…”
The voice echoed across the darkness in the Citadel’s deepest chamber, in the center of which sat a pedestal with a shallow bowl, filled with a liquid bearing a silvery sheen, like quicksilver. But it shone with dim light, illuminating the abdomen of the figure who stood over it, and reflecting the red glow of his eyes as he stared into the pool.
To an onlooker – if any had been in the room, the pool would show nothing. But to the eyes of the being staring into it, it showed him everything. This time, it showed him empty halls, of stronghold hidden in the mountains of a land far to the northwest, on the other side of the globe. It showed him the open prison cell, where once the essence he sought had slept. It showed him where that essence now slept… And the unfortunate soul who now carried it within him.
The boy could have no way of knowing just what he carried… He did not even seem to know that the demon’s corrupted soul now resided within him. His tolerance to the darkness was remarkable – even for one of his kind; his spirit was resisting the corrupting presence, slowing its progress in tainting him. But even the fiery spirit of a phoenix would not hold it back indefinitely… Not living soul could resist its corruption.
“After five thousand years… It has returned,” the entity staring into the pool stated, “and the balance of the two worlds is threatened again. This cannot be allowed.” He stared intently into the pool, and at the red-feathered avian it showed him. “Likely this one’s soul will be extinguished in the cleansing. But it must be done… Before the awakening is complete.”
He waved his hand over to the pool, and the image vanished as the figure turned his back on the pedestal, with the only light in the room now the dim, crimson glow of his eyes…
“The Incarnation of Chaos… Must not live again,” he said as he ventured into the next room, where sat an altar. Here, the entity would make his preparations.
Decided to post this as a journal because it was just way too short to post as a submission XD. So, here we have the first hint of what's coming in the return to the Sentinels series; someone's taken notice of Volcan's 'condition' and seeks to restore a divine balance ( and yes, you all knew what was going to lead to last year I'm sure. )

Announcing: Update to 'The Lecture'
General | Posted 2 years agoThe collaborative chapter written by myself and
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven, the last entry in the Sentinels series up to the end of 2022, has been updated.
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven wanted to do a rewrite, as he did not like how the original one flowed and, looking back on it I think he was right in that it came across kind of rushed. So, we made a new version of it; it opens up largely the same way but around the time where Brent and Avory meet in person the story has been altered.
Hope you like the rewrite!

Good way to end the year!
General | Posted 2 years agoSo, yesterday I took a blacksmithing class. I'd always considered Volcan to be an advocate for blacksmithing, but this was the first time I tried it myself. I think binge-watching Forged in Fire stoked my interest (No pun intended!) and I finally decided to just, go for it.
And I freaking LOVED it!
It was nowhere near as hard as I expected. Don't get me wrong; it is strenuous work, but it is gratifying, and any frustration built up by waiting for the steel to get hot is immediately alleviated once you start hammering away at it. It was almost... Therapeutic, driving away my frustrations right as it came, and creating something with my own two hands. I made a steak flipper and a fire poker - the latter, which I unfortunately didn't finish, but I brought home with me anyway as they told me if I come to another class, I could finish it then. Now I just need to be sure I can afford to do so xP.
But that answer may have come, because I'm moving forward with a consignment deal with a bookstore in the city; the biggest one in the whole city in fact! If I can sell a few copies of Broken Shackle and Broken Pact there, I could get some much needed exposure and maybe boost my Amazon sales! All in all, things are starting to come up - despite the fact I'm still unemployed >.>.
Still, 2023 is ending on a good note, and I'm happy about that.
So, happy new year everyone!
Now, for writing projects next yet, Blaziken Volcan, tag out with your phoenix counterpart - it's time to get back to the Sentinels!!!
(Don't worry; those of you still waiting for the rest of Arc 9, Korban and I are going to finish them before we delve back into Sentinels full-time)

Merry Christmas to all, and a happy new year!
General | Posted 2 years agoDecember 25th has come again, and only a week remains of the year 2023, the year of the Rabbit. Now, we head into the year of the dragon, with many expectations.
It has been a very good year for me and
Korban, close to reaching the end of the Team Valiant series. We have maybe one or two chapters left.
Next year, you will see a return to the Sentinels series, starring characters by me,
Korban,
Avogadro LoApostropheRaven and
Project_X in their fantastic, sci-fi adventures.
This year also saw me [url=https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CP882K6L?tag=operagx-def-sp-cos-ca-v1-20] publish a second novel; a sequel to my previous book, Fallen Kingdoms of Baruun: Broken Shackle, and it is my best solo work by far. I look forward to making the next entries and have even already started on them.
Hope you all have a wonderful December 25th, and are looking forward to the new year!
As always, see you all again for the next epic tale~
