General | Posted 9 years agoHi everyone! So I had a thought recently. When I draw, I tend to invent a character (who usually ends up pretty generic-looking) to fit a composition or idea I have, as pretty much an afterthought. So I thought, why not draw other people's OCs so I get practice outside my generic fellas, and you get some free art? So that's what I'll do!
Basically, link me a reference for a character you'd like drawn below, as well as any preferences or limitations (e.g. I like hyper, I like fat, don't draw them in such and such pose, don't draw them nude, etc etc.).
Now I can't guarantee that I'll draw your character since I take my time with art, and I will be the one choosing the pose/setting (otherwise it's a free commish, you know?). And of course I'll note you before I get started drawing your character, as well as after. My goal is to ultimately get a decent-sized repository of your OCs to choose from. I'm gay as hell, so it'll be pretty much males-only. You can send me as many of your OCs you'd like too -- I might do a multi-character thing!
Anyway, if that sounds good, please leave me the ref info below + any questions you have! And hopefully, this'll be a win/win for both of us c:

End of July Update
General | Posted 10 years agoHey guys! I just wanted to post a little update. I'll be heading off to a rural Japanese village in less than a week to do some English teaching for a year. I won't have my regular desktop I use for drawing so I'm going to try making my Macbook and SAI play nice together using Parallels. I don't want to post anything that's of lesser quality than what I've done here in the past few days, so I'm sure there will be a period of time in the near future where I won't be posting much of anything at all. Oh, and obviously commissions and raffles and trades 'n stuff are closed for now.
But yeah! It'll be a fantastic experience, for sure! And I really hope I can get this new drawing setup working :I

I will close the raffle in 10 days, on the 12th, at noon, server local time.If you are watching me, post below saying that you'd like to be entered and you will be entered just like that! However, spreading the word gets you an additional entry. This is absolutely not required. Correct me if I'm wrong (because this is obviously the first time I've done this), but I believe this does not go against FA Terms and Conditions.
Because I strive to be as random and also transparent as I can in the selection process, here's how it'll go down: as each entrant posts in this journal, I will add them to an Excel spreadsheet list in order. Double entries will be added to the list twice. At the conclusion of the raffle I will use the integer generator here. The number of winners determines the number of columns I create, and then I'll select the numbers on top of each column as the winners. A double entrant cannot win twice. Please allow up to one week for each winning piece to be created (I will contact you if special circumstances arise).
If you are not selected as a winner, never fear! There will be more raffles, as well as a commission system I'll be setting up in the near future.

General | Posted 11 years agoHowdy friendos! So, here's the deal. I'm getting close to 100 watchers, and I want to celebrate this minor achievement with a free art raffle! Details are yet to come. But until I hit this milestone, I am open for requests in general, so note me if you're interested. Simple/gradient background. Color. One or two characters. I only ask that you give credit where it's due, favorite and watch, blah blah you know what's up.
I know some of you may be thinking, "Why go from free art requests to a free art raffle, what's the point?" or "How will this affect the quality and availability of your work?" or "How do I get this strange and confused otter out of my house without causing a scene or frightening him into doing something we will both regret in the immediate future because that's just not something I'm willing to do I can't go through with this for a third time?" and the answer is....yes.

But the real answer is that in the effort to garner some visibility and unbury myself from underneath a metric fuckton of student loans, I want to eventually earn a tiny bit of money on the side from commissions, and this is a good way to snowball into that new segment of this little hobby of mine. Ahem. More on that later.
