Another year older… and glad to be alive.
General | Posted 4 months agoWell, I’ve survived another trip around the Sun for the 47th time.
It was a quiet day at home with just immediate family. After these last few years I can freely admit I’m glad to still be here after everything that’s happened. Life still throws lemons at me on occasions, but I just add the sugar and try to make it the best lemonade I can.
I’d like to say thank you to my friends and followers here who have stayed in touch and encouraged me through these tough times. I’m grateful for you all and the thoughts, prayers and encouragement you have all given. Thank you for your patience too as I work through my problems and put my thoughts on display.
In a minor update, I’m still doing therapy to improve my leg, but it’s slow. The cold and damp this last week has been fun to deal with. Hopefully I’ll be getting my computer back next week and can get back into my art y’all enjoy. The tech I normally take it too thinks he found the problem and it doesn’t require a full rebuild if he’s right, so fingers crossed I don’t gotta find the funds for a complete rebuild.
Here’s hoping everyone has a happy holiday season as we grow closer to the start of a new year.

General | Posted 4 months agoHope everyone had a good Thanksgiving with food and family.
Things are mixed with me this month.
To start with I celebrate my 47th trip around the sun on this coming Thursday, definitely feeling the years and then some.
Therapy is going well on rebuilding strength of my broken hip and pain is down though still using pain meds to keep the pain in check to a level of under 5/10 which means I gotta see my doctor regularly to keep my prescription to ensure I'm not "abusing" the meds. I am finally able to drive again at least so I got a little of my independence back.
My desktop computer went down again, took it in and it was a waste of time/money as they just unplugged everything and plugged it back in and it miraculously worked... then I get it home, hook it up, it turns on for 30 seconds and powers off again with refusing to start again. The tech was "well, it could be MB or Power Supply" which I told him it had to be one of those two already. I want to know what the hell I paid him to do... Ultimately I think it's time for a rebuild. But that means shelling about about $500 for a new MB and CPU, couple hundred more for RAM probably since most things use DDR5 now and my old MB uses DDR3. I think the graphics card will hold out a little longer, it was high end back in 2019 so it's low to mid now. And just to be on the safe side probably $150-200 for a replacement Power Supply. Sadly, it might be cheaper to just buy a totally new system and transfer over my SSD to try and keep my files. *looks at cyber monday deals for computers/parts*
Pandawife is doing well despite this being a busy time in her office. They have to try to squeeze two weeks of work into one week due to holidays, vacations, and her company's yearly trip.
Here's hoping we all have a good holiday season and looking forward to a bright new year to come.

General | Posted 4 months agoLong time no updates. (wow.... 9 months, didn't mean to drop off the radar so hard there)
Last several months have been problematic. First the ISP would keep dropping making anything online nearly impossible to do :( Gotten that resolved for the most part we hope. Then, had my computer suddenly die on me... that sucked of course.
And now for the most recent bit of bad news About 4 weeks ago I got very dizzy and fell. This resulted in my breaking my right hip... I thought I knew pain but not until that point. They had to sedate me to get my clothes off so they could operate, Thankfully didn't require a replacement, but I got a ton of metal in my right leg now holding the hip together. A week in the hospital and a few weeks of rehab I am finally home again. Home healthcare has to come by a few times a week to check on me and see to it that my therapy continues. I thought I could have used 1 more week in rehab, but insurance said nope, time to go home unless you're going to pay the nearly $2k a day they claim it cost. (we all know they aren't paying that of course) Currently on a fairly high dose of pain meds which make me a little loopy and sleepy :( hate that feeling but it's the only way I can get through the day.
To make things harder during this period while I was in the hospital we had to say goodbye to one of our small fluffy children. Our little pom had to leave this world for a better place. He was about 16-17 years, so he had a good run of life, but he wasn't eating and would keep falling over. Was an emotionally tough time.
Hopefully I can return to drawing and such soon if the internet and computer behave. Need to do some creative stuff to help with the current bouts of depression.
Not much else, hope everyone has been doing well and I'll be trying to be more active again.
Thanks for being patient with me.

State of the Cougar - March
General | Posted a year agoHey everyone, hope everyone is doing well.
Been quiet for several weeks due to computer issues, lost my main storage drive and been trying to replace it while recovering as much data as I could. I hate losing in-progress projects. I was able to recover about 95% of the data thankfully.I find it funny how I have more issues with newer SSD drives than I do with my old reliable external WD backup drive that I've had for more than 10 years. Go figure right? Our ISP has been "upgrading" our internet, but it's been buggier more than usual. In-laws called them out to look at things and they said "oh, its the wires in your house, not our problem" yet suddenly things are working a little better. If I can be sure things are going to work reliably I'll be streaming again.
Medically it's been hit or miss, I was feeling better until I bent over to pick up something and felt/heard a popping in my lower back and suddenly I couldn't lift anything and am biting my tongue not to scream when I transition from sitting to standing or the other way around. My Dr sent me directly to the ER and they did a CT scan. Nothing major, other then some degeneration of the disks that they could see. They gave me enough pain pills that at least I can move and muscle relaxers that do help but knock me out like a light, and told me to follow up with an orthopedic specialist for an MRI (which they didn't have).
Mentally I'm still struggling with not being able to do alot of things that I used to do so easily, but that's just the way it is.
Hopefully y'all will see more activity from me in the coming month.
Until next time, stay safe out there.

State of the cougar - Happy New Year
General | Posted a year agoHey y'all, hope everyone had a good holiday season the new year finds you all doing well and staying healthy.
I finally have some medical insurance again, not what I call "affordable" but better than not having anything at all. Medically I'm hanging in there, but sometimes have bad days still where i can hardly leave the bed due to pain. Sometimes not able to eat due to nausea and/or pains. My walking and standing are still very limited with my strength and endurance.
On the art front i will be once more streaming, at least once a week if possible. Took a few more repairs to fix up my computer, RAM failures and graphic card issues. Here's hoping nothing else breaks on this machine. Also, I'm thinking of streaming while I paint minis once a week too, maybe calling it Figmentia Fridays. If you don't know what Figmentia is, it's building/painting/collecting miniatures. There used to be a "You might have figmentia if" website, but I can't find it anymore or I'd share it, it was hilarious. If you're interested, let me know, dunno if I want to use Picarto for this or use Twitch as my niece has recommended. Art streams, since i do adult work, will stay on Picarto. Writing will return also, got a few things including writing commissions in the works.
Not alot more to add here other then here's to hoping 2025 is a good year for us all.
Regards and thanks for hanging around,
Goliath

State of the Cougar - December
General | Posted a year agoHey folks,
Been a little bit, but time for an update.
We've finished moving in with the in-laws and sold our house. One of the hardest decisions we've had to make.
My in-laws are always fighting with each other. I hear them screaming at each other every day and all I can do is put on some headphones and try to stay out of it.
Still dealing with medical issues of course, but that's unlikely to change anytime soon. Still trying to get medicare and disability. Had a physical exam with a social security doctor... now waiting again. Sad part is, I can have a hundred doctors say I am disabled and some bureaucrat decide I'm not. Gotta love government programs. I did sign up for insurance through the ACA but it's not what I call "affordable". It'll kick in after the first of the year, so hopefully then I can get the treatments that will help me a bit more.
Almost have my computer setup again and when I do I'll be trying to stream again.
Only other big news... tomorrow I turn another year older, even though I look alot older then I am some days. There were times this last year I wasn't sure I'd make it to another trip around the sun, but by some miracle I have. Here's hoping I can make it to a few more.
Losing my friend Glacierwolf a few months ago to cancer makes me think of the fact my own father didn't make it to 60 either and Glacierwolf was my age. Makes you think sometimes...
Well, that's all for now, I'll see y'all around. Till then, stay safe!

State of the cougar - August
General | Posted a year agoWell, as we bid July goodbye and welcome August I am happy to say I’m still out of the hospital.
We’ve moved in with in-laws which isn’t ideal, but it’s necessary for now. It’s going to take a while to settle in and everything.
I’m still weak and dealing with the pain. Hate the feeling… hate feeling helpless. Art and writing are still on hold as my computer is in pieces and pandawife’s laptop is still packed up from the move. Hopefully I can get back to both before the end of the month.
Not much else to report, just living day by day.

Loss of a friend… RIP Glacierwolf
General | Posted a year agoA long time friend has lost his battle with cancer.
glacierwolf’s wife
moonstone left the notice in a journal here >>> https://www.furaffinity.net/journal...../#cid:60607458
I’ve known him for 25 years… we shared interests in many things such as the fandom, Warhammer, and DnD.
He was the kind of guy who’d always give you the shirt off his back. He’ll be missed by friends and family. He was the best kind of family too, the kind you got to choose.

Genus and Furlough for sale…
General | Posted 2 years agoI have a large collection of Genus and Furlough comics I need to get rid of before the move. Would anyone be interested in buying them. I think I even have Genus issue 1. A few are signed by artists who appeared in them.
If interested please contact me via notes and we can discuss details. I’d like to sell as one or two lots and not try to piece it out on eBay.

Hit rock bottom…
General | Posted 2 years agoAfter dwelling on things it seems pandawife and I are in agreement. We’re going to have to sell our house. We can’t afford the treatments the drs say I need and the cost of home ownership…
We do have somewhere to go thankfully, in-laws are going to give us shelter for a while. It’s not ideal… but it’s something.
Right now were trying to figure out how to afford to move what little were going to be able to keep. We figure we’re going to have to do an estate sale to get rid of most things, rent a storage unit for the few things we’ll keep but can’t put with in-laws. I am unable to lift and move things so it’s going to be hard.
We’ve really hit rock bottom now… Depression and anxiety are both kicking in. Family and friends say I look like I walked out of a concentration camp with how thin I am. I can’t sleep worth a damn… Can hardly eat, lucky if I get 1000 calories in me a day sometimes.
Still waiting to hear from SSD regarding benefits, been a year since applied.
Things are bad inside my head right now… I’ll update when I can…

Finally home… hope I stay
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, I’m home again… I hope I get to stay home this time. Was put onto a bunch of new meds to try and treat my symptoms.
Right now I’m trying to figure out how to afford them… if you can help buy me a ko-fi http://ko-fi.com/goliathsden or send me some shinies here. Or I’ll be up for writing again in a day or two hopefully, commission or sponsor a story you’d like me to tell?
I’ll be drawing again soon as I’m up for it.
For right now I’m going to pass out for a while… don’t sleep well in hospitals, especially ICU.
Thanks for all the support and well wishes, I really appreciate it and it has kept me going through these hard times.

Status update
General | Posted 2 years agoWell… I’ve been quiet because I’ve spent the last week and a bit lying in ICU. Lots of reasons including chest pain, blood clots, black outs… doctors don’t seem to know the answers for the pain which doesn’t help me much. Black outs are due to blood pressure dropping up to 70 points when I sit and stand.
I just want my normal life back…
Some days the pain is bad enough I can’t eat… which is bad as I’m down to only about 160 lbs. 220 is healthy for my height and build.
I’m just trying to hang in there.
Sorry if a bit of a rant, just gotta get things off my chest.

Medical update
General | Posted 2 years agoWell… blacked out again on Friday night. Was rushed to the hospital where I’ve been since. They’re trying some new meds to equalize my blood pressure and stop the blackouts. Pandawife is stressed, I’m stressed… I want my normal life back :(
Update on the Cougar
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, the good news is I am home again.
The bad news is that the symptoms seem to be related to a bunch of things and we're having to experiment with meds and diet to alleviate. I've lost so much weight I'm down to about 160 lbs... for someone who's 6'9" that is severely under weight/malnutrition. Dr wanted to send me home on IV nutrition to help, but at $200 per day for the IV that was not reasonable... medical costs are ridiculous. I'm now also on a blood thinner due to blood clots in my gastric track, another new expense. With the medication changes I also have to go in to see a dr more often to keep track of the medications.
I am currently weak as hell, walking is hard without blacking out from the problems with my blood pressure. This means sadly it'll take me a week or two before I can work on art again... I can still write though as I can do that from the pandawife's tablet pc.
I need to get some money to afford the new meds I need and more dr visits... If you'd like to commission a story of your own idea or sponsor a story in one of my own settings please reach out for me. Or if you'd like to help me get the meds I need buy me a ko-fi at http://ko-fi.com/goliathsden or toss a few shinies my way.
Thanks for stopping by, you're kind words and thoughts have kept my spirits up and helped me fight depression.

State of the Cougar - May
General | Posted 2 years agoBeen in the hospital nearly a week… passed out at the house and scared the Pandawife and Roommate nearly to death. Was taken by ambulance to the nearest ER and been here since. Still having abdominal pain and they’re currently feeding me through IVs.
It’s hard to stay positive when the doctors can’t give you a good answer or reason for blacking out… they can’t explain the pain… they’re running tests.
I’m tired, stressed, and more than a little depressed… I want to be home… I have nothing with me but my phone, and Pandawife is working so many hours a week that she’s not able to stop by much.
I don’t know what else to say and I don’t know what to do sometimes…

State of the Cougar
General | Posted 2 years agoHey folks,
Well, last few weeks have been hell. Been home for 5 days and continuing to deal with pains in my guts. Doing food diary research it looks like Gluten is now my enemy. And I'm surprised how much stuff has gluten in it. Apparently all my gut problems are a form of IBS which can be triggered by alot of things, including stress, certain foods, etc... When it flares up all I can do is lay down curled up on my side and ride out the pain, pain meds aren't helping at all. Nausea, anti-gas, etc. aren't helping either. Benadryl helps a tiny bit, but that is one of the few drugs that puts me to sleep too. Been reading up on IBS and there is very little that can be done other than doing the elimination of various things from my diet to find out what contributes to flareups.
The other problem I've been fighting is my blood pressure. if resting, my blood pressure is naturally high. But when I sit or stand my blood pressure drops like crazy. They call it orthostatic hypotension and is normally treated with drugs to raise the blood pressure, but since I have high blood pressure at rest, they can't do that and the doctors insist I take a high BP medicine which can make the other problem worse. When I stand I have to fight to keep my vision from graying out and to keep my balance. Even sitting can cause my vision to start to gray out at the edges. It's unnerving as hell.
Hoping to get back into my art and writing this week, please be patient as I learn what I can and can't safely eat without terrible pain and try to get my body to behave correctly.
Stay safe out there everyone!

Cougar Home Again
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, the good news is I'm home again. Thank you for all the well wishes, prayers, and offers of mental support. Over the last week they have helped keep my spirits up and keep me from deep depression.
The results of the tests and everything... they don't know for the most part. There's alot of theories about why I'm having these bouts of pain that incapacitate me, but all the tests for serious problems (life threatening) are null. Their answer is here's some none opioid pain killers, antacids, and water, good luck! But, at least the non life threatening part is good. Let's see how I do over the next month or so.
I will probably do an art stream tomorrow, today I'm just too tired. I've also been toying with the idea of streaming video games and miniature painting, dunno if these two things will be added to my list of activities, but it is a consideration of there is any interest. The miniature painting/building I can offer tips from my many years of model experience. I'm no Ninjon or Squidmar, but I like to think I'm not a slouch either.
Still got a few offers up for adoptable characters and multi-slot YCHs up and available.

Medical update
General | Posted 2 years agoAfter going to ER and being sent home, next day I collapsed at home. I was taken back to hospital and admitted. I’ve had a bunch of tests run on me and even gotten scoped. They did find the cause of the nausea/vomiting this time and a suspicion of the cause of the pain. The falling was the orthostatic hypotension, my blood pressure can drop dangerously when I stand but if lying down my blood pressure is high. So hard to treat.
Hopefully I’ll be out in another day or two

Hospital Trip
General | Posted 2 years agoSorry for no stream yesterday or today, but I spent today at the hospital again :(
Been having pain last few days and this morning it came to a head, bad enough I had to go in. Nothing major found, but some inflammation of my bowels. They sent me home with some meds to recover with instructions to come back if they don’t improve. We’ll see what happens.
Hopefully I’ll be up to streaming tomorrow.

Computer update
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, computer still in the shop, might get it back this evening.
They got the boot drive sorted out and repaired, but while doing a stress test on the system it just randomly shut down. Further examination found one of my sets of memory is going bad and failing intermittently. When it fails, I lose half my RAM and the computer crashes. I told them to pull the bad parts and I'll replace those myself since they don't have the parts in stock, the computer can operate with half its RAM for a little bit.
They're doing one more stress test then they are supposed to give me a call to come and get it. Looking online I'm pleased to see RAM has gotten alot cheaper from the last time I build that PC at least. The worst is that my performance will suffer for a little bit. But having a computer that boots up every time and doesn't crash will make art and streaming alot more doable with less fear of losing progress and work.
So, while getting too late to stream today, maybe I can tomorrow if everything works out right. *crosses fingers*

The Great Hunt Off - Take 2!!!
General | Posted 2 years agoTROPHIES
Well, after several requests, I've decided it's time for these rivals to face off again in The Great hunt Off - Take 2!!! The contestants have been handed their multiverse dimension jumping devices and the spectators are wild!!! Let's meet the contestants!
In this corner, The Poacher. Half tiger, half bunny, and all stud. Soldier, PMC commander, slaver, mercenary, and officially villain in Megalopolis. He's got all the tech in the world, a private army, and the sexiness (and pheromones) to make the ladies swoon into his ropes, cuffs, collars, and various other toys.

In the other corner, The Great White Hunter. A white lion with a fondness for the old days of safaris and hunting. Vigilante, chemist, alchemist, and world renowned big game hunter the world over. Never tracked a prey too powerful to capture and has never turned down a prey to date. What does Megalopolis think of him? Depends on who you ask. Love him or hate him, he's a master of stealth and the tricks of capture.

How will the winner be decided I hear you ask?! Simple, you will decide who catches who. Do you have a sweet innocent fem who just needs to be caught by the gentleman of the hunt, or a naughty bad girl who needs some discipline in the Poacher's harem?
Slots will be for a single character or two characters together in bondage (so yes, these will be naughty). All pictures will be flat colored digitally and will cost $25 each character (prefer paypal but will negotiate other options if needed, ie: amazon gift cards).
Characters with wings: OK. Any gender. Characters with ultra complex markings may be charged +$10. (normal fur patterns, ie. spots, stripes, etc. are no extra charge)
Example:

To claim a spot for your characters in the trophy line up, send me a note with references and who managed to catch them (GWH or Poacher)? The victim (volunteer) will be properly displayed in their captor's trophy wall all nicely bound and helpless for the audience to admire and wearing the appropriate collar to show who caught them.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
If as before you want to participate, but not as trophies, here's a chance for chars and not involve nudity.
Slots will be for a single character or two characters together in evening wear obviously at some fancy party (these will be clean). They will be members of the live audience at the unveiling of the finished trophy wall. So many potentials to discuss the artistic merits of BDSM vs Shibari >^_^<

Computer in shop
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, it gave up the ghost today. Wouldn't boot, I think I got enough to cover the essential repairs I need. But will be a day or two before I get it back and I am back to streaming. Until then, time to go old school *pulls out paper and pencil*
Will still be working on writing at least since I have a tablet to use.
Thanks to those who have helped raise the funds for the repairs.

Offering story commissions
General | Posted 2 years agoHey folks, since no matter what happens with my art computer, I still have access to a tablet I can write on at least. So I am offering writing commissions. Commission prices are as follows.
$10 - First 1000 words
+$5 - For each additional 500 words
+$10 - Adding my own characters as a main char (flat rate, not for each character, approved at my discretion because there are certain circumstances I will not put my characters in)
I love to write: sci-fi, fantasy, superheroes, action, smut/sexy fun times, etc.
My usual "no" list applies: Underage characters in adult situations, scat, watersports, vore, certain other extreme fetishes at my discretion (ask me and I'll give you a yes/no/maybe as there are too many to list and I'm sure there are many I've never heard of)
To see examples of my writing, check out my "writing" section under my gallery. There's a bit of everything in there, you might find something you like.
If you're interested, send me a note.
