From a glance it looks like a funny lookin' 'wile but when attacked it's jaw turns out to be an abdomen and has a few extra pairs of legs.
It's good enough at it's job that it's able to hide it and it's young within a band of the mawile populace, using it's own status in the fairy egg group to reproduce without anyone noticing.
They become so dependent on their ruse that they'll use their true form to fight off anything harming their group. Even if it's caught doing this and is exiled, it means it's offspring will still be taken care off in the group. And even if it's alone, it's still a big spider that can shoot web.

the lore reason it hasn't mutated to cover the other steel-fae pokemon is that it can't build hammers, only webbings

What prompted me to make a new Journal Entry was a third block by a person I watched and love the art of for no clear reason. I'm not here to start stuff, I just wanted to scream out into the void that I'm sorry if I came off as sketchy or abrasive or whatever displeasure you've associated with me or associated with another person that I'm close to and therefore assumed I had that as well. I have been in and out of therapy, I'm currently out because my therapist can only do video conferences at this time and installing ubuntu on this laptop has killed the drivers for the camera and mike and I don't think there's any way to install them

I have more stuff that I should be uploading here, art that was both created by and given to me that I want to share with the world. I will state however that one of the images is based off an AI image (like friend used an AI to plan it out, and then drew an image on their own based on that) the FA staff I talked to about this said it was kosher, but I do want to be transparent about it because this kind of stuff creeps the heck out of people, including me, for valid reasons. I'm personally on the fence when it comes to Neural Network Image Generation as inspiration, I'll think I'll stick with Ye Olde Prodecurals like Donjon and Fantasy Name Generators for this kind of stuff.

As I've said before in previous journals, I do plan on spreading out into other sites and self-hosting when I can; I just need to find my bearings first and foremost. I do have a server computer here with me, but it's more for gaming than web hosting at the moment. As for my personal computer, I still need to start it up for the first time and transfer all of the old data. I'm gonna spend January 2026 trying to socialize more with my friend group and get a hang of windows 10 again. Yes windows 10. I don't care about how much AI you can put in 11, it's a downgrade. I'd rather mess around with Linux distros or ReactOS than use 11, and that's not really a complement to those things as much as I would love to say.

After hearing a lot of discussion videos on the game, I really want to put my two cents in. Here's a copy of what I said under Rimmy Downunder's video on Palworld, with an edit or two for a journal format.

I have never seen any more (mechanically) accurate "poke-clones" like Coromon or TemTem see this much hate for ripping off Pokemon, it seems like the hate is more due to the game being too edgy, or the dev's other game that is essentially Jackbox's "Push The Button" but with an AI generator. Both of which, although I agree a bit that perhaps this wasn't the game that should've broken the "pokemon-clone" curse and finally cemented 'mon games as a Genre, shouldn't be something that makes us fight like children in the playground like in the "Digimon's just a rip-off of Pokemon!" days.

I also hate that every-other person I've subscribed to is now playing this and titling the game "Pokemon with guns". "Skyrim with guns" was a buzzword about Fallout 4 having mostly the exact same pros and cons as it but in another setting, this is a totally different game than Pokemon. Even going through a list of 'mon games I know of I can think of nothing like it.
It would be like calling Half Life:Alyx a "Doom Clone in VR", like who does that? Who would use "Doom-Clone" in 2024? Who would send death threats to Valve for ripping of ID?
I mean yeah some of the Pals are too close to Pokemon for comfort, but others are way different, and copies alone shouldn't be what makes or breaks a game.

I'm very interested in how this game pans out in the future, both in terms of how the genre evolves in the future and in terms of how The Pokemon Company responds (either legally, mechanically, and hey! maybe diplomatically; they are a separate entity to Nintendo and gave a green light on emulations(don't know how much green)) Even though I don't think this game is for me and Even Though I've never played a Pokemon game since Blockbuster existed (and never any mainline!)

I have a lot of thoughts about this game that should probably go into like a discussion video, but I don't know how to make those so enjoy my six-paragraph journal entry. Also when are we getting Smash or Pass: all mon games edition?

People on FA are worried that the staff made the "content involving minors" update too strict and are worried about having to leave.

The Wild-West cultured Novakids from Starbound imply that there are Yankee/Dixie Novakids they came from, and may imply Californian novakids in their future. I'd love to see Appalachian novas, but I understand this opinion has cursed side effects, but I'm sharing it regardless.

You can use the artwork I make and buy for your F-list stuff, so long as you ask for my permission and credit both me and the creator. I end my ghosting of posting to say this b/c I looked up Spiral Knights on F-List and found this image on there but blue-shifted.
I know people have anxiety and stuff that forbids them from talking to strangers, I'm not going to judge straight-up not asking.
But I will judge not crediting, like I'd even credit open species to their creators if possible and I get annoyed when someone doesn't tag their SK_Gremlin artwork as Spiral Knights.

I guess that's about it, back to not posting I guess.

I'm also choosing Ethel as it works with the theming of what I want from both her and with the theming of the Umbrex species (which right now is just 9-puzzle's Ophira and the vibes I get from her).

I put a U in her name and now it's "Emmquill". This is too help with pronunciation and my discord friends have been subconsciously spelling it that way.

However my Spiral Knights IGN is still "Emmqill" as I'm not paying 3.5k energy to add a single letter. Especially now, when SK the game may not be around for much longer and the property is in the hands of a skeleton crew that DMCAed a unofficial patcher and have shown more love to Puzzle Pirates.

Never liked The Grind℠ anyway, Had more fun in my imagination than the game since 2012.

I have this cardboard box of old arts from the 2010s I want to archive, I'm wondering how to go through with it.
I'm thinking of combing art pieces into big collages
and perhaps digitally edit them, so they at least take up less space
