FWA 2017 GAME ON
Posted 8 years agoI had every intention of not going to FWA this year, but things fell into place and I'm suddenly able so I'm going!
This will be my first time trying to table at the Artist Alley so come check me out! I'll be taking a couple at-con commissions and take-home commissions. I'll also have a few random things like a tail, some pottery, soap, and maybe some prints? Not entirely sure just yet!

Feliz Dia de los Muertos! (also big life update)
Posted 10 years agoHola, mis amigos. I hope this finds you well! I love the three day Halloween/Dia de los Angelitos/Dia de los Muertos celebrations. One year I'd like to set up an ofrenda downtown for the festival. I missed it this year due to working all day and being sick. Might have caught something at the Halloween party?
Commissions and art have been very slow. Not to be all "life problems, weh!" But seriously, the past few months (year, really?) have been so rough. We (my roommates, gf, and I) have been having multiple apartment-related issues, including pest problems, broken washer, room switches, health issues, amongst many others. We've unfortunately also had some family and pet losses this past month. My sewing machine is acting up. After I bag up all my possessions in my room and have it treated I can get back into the swing of fursuits. I feel like every time I sit down to work something happens. I've felt like this since the spring. The silver lining is I've been transitioning into my new job well (not the pottery studio, but another one!) where I actually get to work with animals (a local shelter) and volunteers! I'm very excited for this opportunity to have a job within my field and to gain experience. I still will be glazing when I can, and will juggle the two jobs.
After I finish these commissions (aiming for this month. I'm very determined) I will be closing and only opening for trades. I have a few personal projects that have been on the back burner for years, including my lemur and a Rocket Raccoon cosplay. I really want to experiment in different costume construction, and next year would like to attempt a centaur maybe??
So thank you all so much for your support and patience. I only want to make quality art and I've learned sometimes it takes longer than I would like. The furry community has been a great source of strength for me and continues to harbor some of my favorite people in the world. Muah! <3

I had the opportunity to bond better with so many old friends and meet so many lovely new ones! This has been my biggest PCD, I love bumping into so many familiar faces all weekend. It's very ideal!

General Update (Commissions Closed! Thank you!)
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone! I hope this find you well. I'm just gonna update my queue and let everyone know I'm closed for commissions right now! Once I finish this current batch of work I will let you all know when I'm open again, but I suspect I'll be busy leading up until MFF. I doubt I'll be able to make it to the con itself but I have some deadlines to meet, so that'll be cool.
It's been a strange and tough few months. Last week we had a death in the family (my great aunt on my dad's side) so I've just been a little slow on art this past week. She was an awesome lady and I'm sad I can't make it down to Texas for her funeral. Two weeks ago my rat Fable had surgery and is making a full recovery. Those who commissioned me helped pay for her surgery (which, as you all know with animals, comes up so quickly), so MAJOR thanks to everyone. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you!

Have you all seen this?? It looks amazing. I immediately fell in love with the artwork. The game itself looks really engaging and looks like a beautifully animated board game. It looks really thought out and you HAVE to watch the two animated shorts for it, you won't be disappointed.

This has seriously been the best convention I have ever been to. From the friends to the theme to the dances to the hotel and staff, I was so so so thankful for such a mind-blowingly fun con.
I'm constantly reminded how lucky I am to have met so many brilliant folks over the course of the past three years since I became more active after a long college hiatus from furry cons. Special shoutout to
rawkz0rz for introducing me to some of the very best people over the past couple years and basically reconnecting me! Sometimes at conventions I like to sit and grin and just ask, "How did we all get here?" It's a good feeling.

Artists! What type of computer do you use?
Posted 11 years agoMy trusty Dell Inspiron laptop is on its last legs and my goal this year is to get a new comp. I'm potentially interested in a desktop if that means it will be cheaper and good for digital art, 3d programs, video editing programs, and possibly some gaming (so I'll need a good graphics card). I've been on Windows my whole life, but have used Macs before and I do like them.
So, what do you all use/recommend? Where did you get yours? I've been referred to NewEgg but have found I have no idea where to even start! I'm also trying to be economic, which I know is a tall order, lol.

Posted 12 years agoSo yes, I suppose I must be an adult or something and actually save my money for adult-y (not that kind...! Well, maybe) stuff like student loans and car payments and like, food and stuff. Hopefully the next couple months I'll just be putting my little dingo nose to the grind and makin' that cashy goodness. Also, I've had some plans to make a new suit by FWA (which I WILL be going to since I'm missing MFF!) so I can start on that soon.
The good news is, I'll hopefully be getting some new jobs the next couple weeks so I can start saving! I've had two interviews the past week, so wish me luck! One is a library assistant (sexy!) and the other is at GameStop. :3
Also, come end of May I'll be heading to Australia to visit my Nana and some friends. Anyone in the Port Macquarie area, hit me up!

I just found my artist's statement from last spring talking about my animal masks. I had no idea it was online, lol.:

Disney Infinity

I got it on opening day, and I got the three starters (Sulley, Jack Sparrow, and Mr. Incredible) and Violet (who I got free with pre-order!), Elastigirl (Mrs. Incredible) and Mike. Since then I got Davey Jones, Barbossa, and Randall. I have like, 7 power discs (the coolest being the Nemo's Reef sky and Mickey's Jalopy). So far the gameplay has been pretty cute! I sped through the Monsters U world, completing almost everything. I'm taking my time with Pirates and Metroville. I want to get the Lone Ranger set simply because it's a western, but I need to save for that.
Pros: Interesting gameplay, unlocking stuff is fun if not repetative, the animations are fluid and the voices are great (original actors!). Co-op mode is free-ranging and my housemates love to play it with me. Beating the crap out of each other doesn't get old. Disney keeps releasing new Toyboxes every week, and so far trying each one has been super fun!
Cons: Where the heck are all the female characters? Out of 29 overall characters, only 8 are female. I'm still pretty upset by this, seeing as Disney Infinity has more appeal to all genders as opposed to the mostly boys-only feel of Skylanders (which despite that I still am obsessed with). I dunno. The starters were all boys. And one of the 8 females is a car from the 2nd movie. And I really did not like the Cars franchise at all but w/e. The worlds (Monsters U, Pirates, etc) are a little shallow, but since DI is like, sampling from a lot of movies I don't expect a full-fledged movie game of each world, you know? I can see the toybox is their main focus, and it does have a lot to offer. Once I unlock a lot of stuff, it'll be a lot more fun to build in it.
I'm definitely looking forward for the Toy Story set to come out, I have Jack Skellington pre-ordered, and I'm excited for Rapunzel, Perry the Platypus, Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope, and Socerer's Apprentice Mickey. Good thing I'm not a completionist. XD

Posted 12 years agoSo, long story short, I'll most likely be skipping IFC in favor of Dragon Con, a)because I have a place to stay and 2)I'll only be going for a day and c)hopefully meeting some cool celebs (Zoie Palmer and Doug Jones omggggg) and b)my girl and I miiight be doing a Korra and Asami cosplay and would look super cute together.

IFC: I'm in central KY, so if anyone is passing through either Louisville or Lexington on their way up to IFC let me know if you happen to have 2 spaces (and room for 1 fursuit). Will help with gas, of course!
MFF: I'm either going to take a flight or a Megabus up for MFF this year. I'm looking for a room just for myself. Again, I'm totally cool with floor space and I'll either have 1 or 2 fursuits.
