In regards to a recent Event...
Posted a year agoNormally I don't reply to trolls, haters, or any kind of grifter, but I want to have an open discussion about this subject, to better understand why it happened.
is accusing me of art theft, mostly for a background seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/54043858/ (NSFW) as it appears they think I stole their "background" which originally was from the popular Nintendo Game- Super Mario 64 and they actually plan to go as far as court for it... Which, isn't necessary because the background isn't even close to their nearest work, as seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50185935/ (SFW) Normally, this would be a waste of time to even debate, but I want to talk about it.
Maybe he thinks I did it out of malice? No, I just needed a background to match a requested work, and that fit the bill, it was acquired online, and I even mentioned to him if sufficient evidence is provided, I'll grant his wish and remove it. But maybe the biggest reason I bring it up is this: should I retire photo BG and screenshots? I'd love to try more original BGs, but that might factor into the cost too... Making my stuff a little less cheap, and preventing this from happening again.
This is open to debate, so anyone has thoughts? please, let's hear them, thank you!

First of all, I've been discussing changes for the new year with my friends, my family, and beyond... Many people are very happy with my works when they are received as comms, trades, and requests.
However, I am not satisfied with the prices, quality, or offerings of my work, I have been told repeatedly I am underpricing my works and not offering enough variety, making them feel cheap and worth less than they really are, so, I will be increasing my prices as well as my choices soon to reflect that... I will also be offering higher quality artwork as a result, instead of pure vector and just characters, I will make objects, weapons, tools, concepts, and the abstract for the future as well as characters and better backgrounds too in a variety of styles, including Traditional, Mixed Media (Coming soon), Animation, Comics, Sequences in Gif and Video, Proper Digital (2024), Vector, Text, 3d (pending), Landscapes, and Pseudo 3d Offerings.

Here's what will change in review:
1. I pledge to make my own Backgrounds from now on or use photos/other art a lot less in the final versions.
2. I will offer a wider variety of art from Traditional to Digital, Static to Animated, Both SFW and NSFW Projects, More YCHs, More Original Works, and more Species Types.
3. I pledge to draw more male/intersex/non-binary characters in the future if requested, not being picky anymore about genders!/
4. I will increase my prices gradually as my skills and services demands, but I will continue to offer some lower priced works for content that is at least on par with past works, if I want to improve, I got to be upfront about my prices and realistic with the effort they're worth too.
5. I promise to minimize downtime, if possible, for works and get on them at a faster pace, no more hiatuses on existing works for anything but emergencies IRL!
6. Less ponies, the trend is in decline, so I will be drawing less ponies, more original works, and slowly sunset this, I have received complaints about MLP works in the past and have been slowly sunsetting them in projects, as the trend is kind of a... dead horse. *Is shot* it's my choice, I will retain the name CleverDerpy, but only for business purposes. (Sorry MLP:FiM, but thank you for all the years of good times and Magic!)
7. It's time to Expand beyond Pokémon alone, I can't rely on it forever, but the concept will continue going for a long, long time to come. yes, do expect more original works!
8. I pledge to open up my mind to new ideas and may take some ideas out of the norm for me, let's see how it goes. I'm nervous, but so ready~
9. I'm open to more suggestions for art styles and will be open to more comments, please, if you see something wrong or actually like my works, let me know in comments all over my stuff, I value everyone's opinion here, play nice!
10. This one is the last, but it's really improtant, I pledge to support my fellow Artists over AI, I will not allow any use of my works in AI projects, nor harbor it in any way. Sink your ship already you prompters, take your AI art garbage with you!

Another group I am working on is the Lake Trio (Thetana, Sigmi, and Chixy) who will be granted the powers over Hypnotism, Quicksand, and Crystalization, accordingly.
And the last update i plan to introduce a brand new Concept for purchase, They're called Dystopian Tattoos. They're markings that represent ruin or negative effects on enemies of the user. I hope to prepare these for concepts as soon as today, but a better example will be shown with the New Lake Trio Refs.
