As of right now, I generally try to submit new artwork at least 5 times a month, but it usually on random days of a given week, but lately I've been wondering if it's more worth it to keep to a weekly upload schedule, for more consistency? I think some benefits to this are that my followers will know when exactly to expect new art. and also that I won't have to rush myself to come out with new art. I could have a small backlog of things to upload when they're ready, maybe make refinements to them in the meantime if I need to, etc.

A downside to this is that it may result in less artwork per month, but of course I may make exceptions to this proposed schedule and upload extra pieces here and there, such as commission work or Holiday art.

So, what do you all think of having just one new piece a week, rather than 5+ pics randomly throughout the month? If you like this idea, what day of the week would work best? I myself was thinking Sundays, but let me hear your preferences if you have any, please and thanks!

Heyo! I just want to announce that beginning on January 1st, 2026, I plan to raise my base price for commissions (aka the price for a single character, fullbody and shaded) from $40 up to $50. Prices for any add-ons (such as extra characters, backgrounds, etc.) will remain the same. This means that anything you buy from me in 2026 will be an additional $10 from what it would cost as of right now.

I understand that this is kind of a risky decision, so as a reminder to any future clients, if there is anything about your piece you don't like or feel can be improved upon, I encourage you to let me know and critique it so I can make whatever fixes you want. I love what I do and want to do it better, and I want to give you what you deserve after spending your hard-earned money.

And of course, you may certainly ask for commission work now if you want to avoid paying that extra $10, come 2026.

First, just to assure you all that no, I'm not in any sort of life-threatening danger, but due to some unforeseen expenses, I'm really in need of at least a thousand dollars' worth of commission work to help cover them. Anyways, Megaplex '25 went absolutely fantastic for me, that is for sure! This year's theme for the con was basically all about 90s cartoons. Now personally, even though I was born in 1995, I'm not exactly one to define myself based on when I was born, or to relish in nostalgia, although I could understand why others do. For a while, I've been the type of guy who just wanted to see what happens in the next episode of this show we call life, instead of replaying the same stuff over and over again...if you know what I'm trying to get at with this metaphor. Basically, I always more-so enjoyed seeking out new things, new media, new experiences, and whatnot, instead of living in the past.

Still though, after attending this wonderful convention over the weekend, I think I've come to a deeper understanding as to why the 90s were so fun, and why nostalgia is a very real and valid thing. I think with all the technological and cultural advancements at that time, there was actually little something for everyone to enjoy, and any great new innovation that came out at the time (especially the internet), we were not so overly dependent on. It felt like everything was just right, and just enough.

Fast forward to now, we kinda lost that sense of just right and just enough, one thing overpowered the other, shit happened, and look at the world we're living in now. I can guarantee that not one soul is gonna look back on the 2020s and think "yes, that was the decade I'm most proud of!"

That doesn't mean I'm losing hope for the future though. At this point in time, I think more and more people are starting to wake up to the unfair and imbalanced state we're all so clearly experiencing, especially with our social and political climate. It's up to us now to educate each other on what's going on, and bring more and more people in to fight the flat-out evilness that oppresses and brings us down, whether it's taking the form of mental illness, or a very specific regime.

I don't know how or when exactly we'll regain this sense of peace, joy, and fun, but we gotta hang on and hang together if we are to ever find a way. Essentially, we must save the unborn child that is the 2030s...if, you know, that sounds about right. 😅

When setting your contact info to other platforms like Twitter, Patreon, etc, don't copy/paste the whole URL. All you should be putting there is your username.
If you put the whole URL, it will come out invalid and therefore be less convenient for people to find you.

Last night was a sad night...Dragoneer, the founder and owner of FA, passed away from health complications.

He was a chill dude, and fantastic for the community. I remember chatting with him in the official Telegram chat about the Bubsy game from 2017 when it came out, which was really a cool experience, finding out how personable he was to even a relatively small user like me.

I give my deepest sympathy to all his loved ones. May he rest in peace, and always be remembered as a highly influential...nay, pioneer member of this incredible community, and a cool guy overall.

Turnaround time is pretty quick, usually never takes more than a couple weeks. I also send WiP sketches and updates regularly to my clients as well.

I really don't support what Adobe has been doing lately with its ToS and AI and all, but I have tried learning CSP and also Krita...it's not going as smoothly as I hoped. For some reason, they both lag badly on my PC, I'm having trouble getting used to their UI, and their tools just don't seem to have the same efficiency as the tools in Photoshop. And I really don't like to spend forever on a single piece, especially commissioned work.

For the time being....I might still use CSP's vector line tools since those work pretty well, but for the most part I might have to do shading/lighting and certain effects in Photoshop.

As far as the possibility of my work being stolen for AI learning purposes, I did go into my account settings and opted out of it, but I pray those buttons to toggle it on/off legitimately work and that their description isn't lying.

And for those who have bought a commission since my previous journal, at this point I plan to complete them in Photoshop, but if you're not comfortable with that, please contact me ASAP and perhaps I can give a full refund. Otherwise, I will continue working on them.

For anyone else who would like a commission, my half-off sale will still be going on until July 1st.

I've been using Photoshop to do my art for more than a decade now, and it's upsetting to me that Adobe's pulling some shady stuff lately, what with the prices increasing, pushing those generative AI features uncomfortably hard, and now saying in their ToS that they have the right to view and use all user's projects to develop said AI...it's got me questioning if I want to keep using it for both personal and commission work.

In the meantime, I'm gonna try getting accustomed to Clip Studio Paint. I've owned the first version for years now but never really used it, so I think it's about time that I start.

And while I'm training myself with CSP, I'm gonna do a commission sale until further notice. Anything you want, half off from its usual price. Needless to say, no Photoshop will be used.

I should really be saving up some money for Megaplex and furmeets and such, and since commission work has been coming in slow, I figure I might as well lower prices for most of what I offer.

For examples of what has changed, a fullbody shaded character pose still remains at $40. but the option for additional characters is now at an additional $20 each, rather than $35 each. And while a detailed background would range from $20 to $40, it now ranges from $10 to $20.

Prices will remain this way indefinitely.
