In over my head.
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's a feeling we can all share. A feeling that the world is moving too fast around us, that we're being left behind.
I sometimes wish I could call a time out and try to catch up. Best I can do, though, is triage: What I need to do, what I'd like to do, and what I should do.
That third category keeps growing: I should read all those books I got for Christmas, I should clean the house, I should work on Toto's fursuit, I should exercise more, I should get surgery, I should do more art... Where's the pause button?

One year down!
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's been one year since I took over this account. I guess I'm streaming art now, which is cool, except when people get mad at me for streaming.
I'm just not sure what direction I should be working in these days. This awful reflux keeps getting worse. Breakfast to bed, I can't stop gagging and choking down vomit. It's hard to shake the feeling that something is seriously wrong.
But enough of that, I guess. I really need some good sketch artists to do collabs with. Otherwise, I have no art at all to do. Hell, commission me. I don't care. It's not about the money, I just need to be able to pay my sketch artists and give me something to distract myself.
Please, please, please don't be angry if I don't upload things as quickly as I used to. Most of the stuff I draw, I'm not allowed to, and I just feel like I make people angry all the time. I want to be happy, and I want to make my friends happy, I really do.

Streaming art: yea, or nay?
General | Posted 14 years agoJust finished a 4-part commission, but I guess I'm not supposed to post it... sorry :(
I suppose I have the capability to stream my art. Not sure whether any of you would find that interesting, though! It's all up to you guys. Any interest?

2011: a "what the hell" year.
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's been a year since 2010 disappeared over my shoulder, and, incidentally, since I took over this account from its previous owner. Let's take a quick look backward to see where 2011 has brought us, shall we?
* I've met dozens of new friends here, providing roleplay, collaborations, and even in-person meetings.
* Moving to a bigger apartment, with two roommates. It's something I'm still not quite used to... but I'm getting there.
* Almost 2000 favorites and 357 watchers on just over 100 submissions. I daresay 2012 won't be nearly as good, but hopefully the quality of my art will improve.
* Deteriorating health, especially with my esophagus, led to heavy medication and, soon, surgery for fundoplication.
* I've been wracked by some deliriously disrupting depression. Luckily, more medication seems to have forestalled that a bit, but I still wonder now and then whether my life is worth living.
* On a global scale, climate change continues to accelerate unchecked. Glacial retreat and sea ice melting have led to rising sea levels, methane clathrates boiling off in Siberia, and unprecedented violent weather worldwide.
* Brave souls throughout the world have toppled oppressive regimes, going through some amazing pain and hardship in the process. Syrians and Libyans, especially, deserve nothing less than a standing ovation for their work.
* Nations working together have broken new ground in science, with CERN continuing to chase down the Higgs Boson and the successful launches of both private and public spacecraft to help explore the skies.
* Meanwhile, the United States is looking more and more like a comic book villain every day. Let's see, what've they been up to this year?
- Violating the sovereignty of several nations,
- Continuing to support oppressive regimes in some countries, and fighting against legitimate regimes in others,
- Genetically engineering a weaponized variant of the H5N1 virus,
- Enabling the financial sector to drag the world's economy into the sewer,
- Setting a legal precedent for the eradication of class-action lawsuits,
- Allowing unlimited campaign contributions for corporations,
- Increasing the wealth gap to neo-feudal levels,
- Buffing censorship up to Big Brother levels, with military retribution for dissension,
- Completely abusing ICANN to become a police watchdog for American corporations and special interest groups,
- Continuing the morally indefensible practices of torture, capital punishment, marriage inequality, extraordinary rendition, and subversion of habeas corpus,
- Purposely demolishing organized labor and collaborating with cities to violently eliminate peaceful strikes,
- Continuing to completely ignore global climate change, at the request of lobbyists who stand to benefit from polar ice caps melting,
- Maintaining its position as the world's #1 arms dealer,
- Disenfranchising minority and immigrant voters,
- Bullying the international community, including UNESCO and the WHO,
- Spending hundreds of billions of dollars per year on the military, nearly as much as every other country in the world combined...
I could go on and on, but this is pretty long already, and I'm trying to keep my mental health in check for 2012. Have a good one, you guys.

'Twas the night before Christmas...
General | Posted 14 years ago... and all through the den,
Came the sound of
classified-crud, fapping again.
O'er JPEGS of yiffing and photos of butts,
Dog dongs, married men, and bunny-eared sluts.
In the kitchen,
Mirachayapanther toiled with care,
Prepping lactose-free snacks with holiday flair.
Chilis had to be sliced, and eggs for the beating,
While wearing an apron of Dedede drooling while eating.
But Sir Av, as he's known, was nowhere to be seen;
He'd absconded to the sea with his Totodile queen.
Together they'd drink 'nog and open each box,
Dismayed by sweaters and dozens of socks.
While it may seem that he's been busy of late,
His upcoming art might just be worth the wait.
And to all who endeavor to post something here,
Have a merry Mudkipmas, and a happy New Year!

General | Posted 14 years agoGuys, if SOPA passes, I'm going to have to delete the vast majority of my pictures here. That's assuming FA even survives, which is dubious.
Honestly, I'd tell you to contact your Congressmen, but unless you have a few million to spend on lobbyists, they're not going to give you the time of day.

Karnimani needs a new car rather badly! That means Average needs cash. There are two options: beg for donations, or make more art. Well, I guess I could sell my organs, too, but let's save that for a last resort.MONEY STUFF
Inked picture: $15 / €11 / ₤9 (example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5389324/ )
Flat coloration: $20 / €14 / ₤12 (example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6577539/ )
Basic cel shading: $30 / €22 / ₤19 (example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5999189/ )
Detailed cel shading: $40 / €30 / ₤27 (example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6421790/ )
Smooth shading: $40 / €30 / ₤27 (example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7004738/ )
Photorealistic smooth shading: $60 / €45 / ₤40 (example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5958314/ )
These are base prices. The actual price can go down (tiny picture, very simple, no background) or up (more characters, detailed background, your character is made of ray-traced rainbows), depending on the content. I NEVER charge more for larger pictures, because I like 'em big!
Another piece of the puzzle complete.
General | Posted 14 years agoFirst off, I'm going to change my featured submission thanks to you guys.
Second, I finished a pair of ears for Toto's fursuit! In fact, I enjoyed the process so much, I made a second, smaller pair to mount on a headband. Would you like me to submit them here?
ADDED BY ADDENDUM
Men, go ahead and give your nuts a nice, tender rub. Make sure that there's nothing extra in there! Testicular cancer is pretty terrible, so you should definitely grope yourself every 6 months,
Women, the same goes for your breasts. Make sure you're nice and familiar with their topography. If you find something extraordinary, don't hesitate to see a doctor!

One of these things is wrong!
General | Posted 14 years agoThis is a fun game I made up once when I wanted to get to know someone. It's a fun way to get across some of the more interesting parts of your life, and get to know the other party, as well.
Essentially, you mention three things about yourself, two of which are false! The other party has to guess which one is actually true. The two false answers can be partial fabrications or outright falsehoods - but don't make them too bizarre, or nobody will believe. Today, I'll play it with you. I've got some for you to guess, which will be revealed by next week. As for you, please make one (or more) yourself, about you, and I'll try to guess :)
Here are 10 rounds for you guys to guess on.
1. When I was a baby, I...
a) faceplanted in my first birthday cake. It was chocolate.
b) ate more mushrooms than in the intervening 20+ years of my life... and subsequently puked them up.
c) tripped my mom, who then fell down the stairs and had to be put in traction.
2. On my sixth birthday, I...
a) got my first origami set and began my life-long hobby of paper-folding.
b) got food poisoning from a roast beef sandwich, yet more puking.
c) finally learned to pee standing up without spraying all over.
3. In first grade, I...
a) hit a friend in the cheek with a stick, requiring plastic surgery, as it went all the way through.
b) learned my first dirty word, and subsequently got sent to the principal for calling the teacher an ass.
c) lost my first tooth in gym class, when I accidentally kneed my face.
4. In middle school, I...
a) fell off a trampoline and broke my left arm and both wrists.
b) had my first orgasm while cuddling a bit too intensely with my stuffed animals.
c) won a prize for having the widest mouth in the school.
5. In eighth grade, I...
a) never weighed more than 70 pounds / 32 kg.
b) got in a fight with a high-schooler, and lost 3 teeth.
c) broke a toe playing water volleyball. What's with all these injuries?
6. In high school, I...
a) accidentally stole a friend's TI-83+ calculator... and I still have it.
b) was voted the quietest kid in my class in senior superlatives.
c) showed up alone for the prom and stood in the corner pouting for an hour.
7. My first year of college, I...
a) ate a pizza with a cockroach in it. Well, half a cockroach by the time I noticed.
b) got a lung infection after running uphill between classes and was in the hospital for 5 days.
c) bought a dildo online and had it shipped to the wrong address.
8. When I graduated, I...
a) got so drunk I passed out in the living room with my pants down.
b) got my first car as a graduation present - a Mercury Cougar.
c) had a higher GPA than anyone in any of my three majors.
9. At my current job, I...
a) got hit up by a drug dealer while doing field work in Willimantic.
b) broke several hundred dollars worth of computer equipment with my wedding ring.
c) have eaten a meal in every single town in Connecticut.
10. Since I made my account here, I...
a) have made more journals than submissions.
b) have met a clean dozen people I've met here.
c) spend less time RPing than anytime in the last five years.
Now it's your turn.
Make your guesses, and post a few of your own for me to figure out!

I'm still over in France
General | Posted 14 years agoAnd I'm bringing back 80 bucks of wine and 60 bucks of chocolate. I'd bring cheese, too, if I were allowed. Haven't bought a return ticket yet, but I should be back Monday all the same. Mudkip's slippery like that; can't pin him down.
So, my buddies, how's life treating you? I'm thinking of updating my Artist Profile with some information, but I'm still not sure. I've seen some that just go on way too long, and I don't want it to get in the way of my drawings. Moreover, I'm worried people will dismiss me offhand once they get to know me better. A bit silly, I know, but that's the main reason why I don't have much info up here.
Life's full of tricky decisions, isn't it? Help me out.
P.S. If you're in Philadelphia, I will have a long layover there. It was 10 hours on the way out. Hit me up if you want to hang out!

Arousal
General | Posted 14 years agoHaving another woman around has reaffirmed some thoughts I've had on arousal and taught me some new tricks.
* Sniffing my neck will make someone horny if I've gone without a shower for 2 days. (Don't judge; the power was out.)
* I can tell when a woman is turned on by smelling her neck.
* My balls smell delightful, and I've never seen someone get horny so quickly as when she took a whiff of them.
* My cum does indeed smell like a freshly buttered ear of corn.
* Horse cocks may look strange, but when you're horny, they feel wonderful.
* Women can get off on eating each other out.
* Cuddling to conserve warmth leads to sex.
Now, of course, not all of these apply to everyone. Do you folks have some other advice, or theories to try out?

A week to remember
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's been a very eventful week up here in Av-land. Deaths, disappointments, and new beginnings abound. At least for now, though, I'm still around.
Next week, I'll be heading off to France, so adventures look promising. Any of you European buddies who would like to meet up, now's the time.
As for art, I have one picture coming up, and then that's it for a while. I'm not sure how many people are still watching me (sorry for the low frequency), but I can post some pictures of the fursuit I'm working on, if anyone's interested.

If this is binturong, I don't want to be binturight!
General | Posted 14 years agoHello, followers! Nice to see you're still hanging around. This week, I'd like to hear from you. Here is a list of questions for you to answer!
1) What is your favorite animal species?
2) Do you have any exotic pets?
3) Ever had an animal try to eat you? (Mosquitos don't count!)
4) Jumping spiders: cute, or horrifying?
And skip the next part if you don't like talking about sex:
5) One night stands: yes or no?
6) Do you have a FetLife account?
7) Would you rather pursue romantic encounters online or offline?
8) Ever get a spontaneous hook-up?
And now for something completely different:
9) Have a fursuit? Would you ever want to get one?
10) Make it yourself, or commission it?
11) What kind of creature?
12) How knowledgeable are you at sewing/costume design?

General | Posted 14 years agoSo, who's going? I figure I'll officially sign up this year, instead of ghosting. We won't have our pet fox this year, but hey, you can at least spend some time with me and
Karnimani and
Classified-Crud.
Sound off!

More questions for you all!
General | Posted 14 years agoI love asking questions nearly as much as I love answering them. This time, they revolve around a subject everyone enjoys: food!
1: Would you consider yourself a gourmet, a gourmand, or something else?
2: What kind (nationality/ethnicity) of food do you like most?
3: How is your tolerance for very spicy foods?
4: Do you drink coffee, tea, a digestif, or something else after a big meal?
5: How many meals and snacks do you get on the average day?
6: What's the most you'd be willing to pay for a good meal?
7: Tell me about the nicest meal you've ever eaten.
8: Ever eat something that was still alive (on purpose)?
9: Which do you like best: salty, sour, sweet, bitter, or spicy foods?

On global climate change
General | Posted 14 years agoIf you've been keeping up with the latest scientific news, you already know that the IPCC's predictions for global climate change are looking dreadfully optimistic. In short, we're doomed! Unless there is a rapid and global geo-engineering effort in the next few years, we will head into a 4 degree celcius world - one which is, overall, 4 degrees warmer than the average we've been enjoying so far. 4 degrees doesn't seem like much, but it renders a large portion of the world uninhabitable and destroys the vast majority of our arable land. Canada and Russia will be the only regions capable of sustaining life, and only to a limited extent; the global population would have to drop to under a billion to make use of the limited food supply. In short, this means that at least 7 out of every 8 humans will die.
Let that sink in a bit.
You stand to lose almost everyone you know and love. It won't be death by attrition, either. It'll be death by starvation or mass conflict, neither of which I'd wish on anyone. And that 4 degree world is just the beginning. We'd hit that threshold even if we somehow stopped burning fossil fuels right now. It's not in the distant future, either. This is 20-40 years out. This is your life, and your kids' life.
And since it's looking inevitable, especially with climactic breakpoints approaching, how can I rectify my life with this? Knowing that even if I live, I'll be indirectly causing the death of 7 other people? Knowing that, despite anything I can personally do to help, this change is happening regardless? Nobody can predict the future with certainty, but there's every indication that we're spiraling downhill; it does little good to be optimistic, even now that time has essentially run out.
Tl;dr - how do I not be depressed about this unfolding tragedy?

Daily costs
General | Posted 14 years agoI decided to take a look at my expenses as a function of time, divided into one-day increments. What does it cost for me and my wife to live for a day?
$41.50 for rent (incl. heat)
$18.70 for food
$4.10 for air travel
$4.00 for insurance
$3.40 for electricity
$2.00 for gasoline
$1.80 for computers
$1.60 for gifts
$1.20 for games and game systems
$1.10 for internet access
$0.80 for clothing
$0.70 for water
$0.60 for furniture
$0.60 for health care
$0.50 for sex
$0.40 for laundry
$0.20 for sports
That comes out to $83.20 a day, or $41.60 per person. Rent is 50% of my total expenses... which seems kind of high. Of course, this is a very expensive part of the country! Why don't you guys give it a shot, precise or rough as you like? I'm really curious how expensive things are for you.
If you want to include student loan and 457 payments, those total $65.40 daily, for a grand total of $148.60. Yowch.

General | Posted 14 years agoIt's no secret that I'm a highly forgetful guy. Terrible, I know. But I make an effort to remember!
Here is what I'm working on, a collab with Yellowpower/Shimera (m/m):

http://i55.tinypic.com/347brja.jpg

http://i52.tinypic.com/sxelbd.jpg
After that, I've got a series of five pictures from Gothyk to work on, also m/m.
As far as I remember, I'm all paid up with everyone, except for the following long-term debts:
Xander, you owe me some cash for those commissions.
Bludgeon, you owe me some drawings.
Galen, I don't think you've paid me for that one commission yet.
I know you guys need the money more than I do, so I don't mind waiting, just don't forget about it.
If there's anything I've forgotten, or something I got wrong, please let me know!

General | Posted 14 years agoI've spent a little time working on a re-make of this old picture: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5348608/ It'll be in the same style as the original, just done up (I hope) much better. Here's what I have so far:
-SNEAK PREVIEW- http://i52.tinypic.com/29m7lle.jpg -SNEAK PREVIEW-
You guys like it? I'm not all that satisfied with the background thus far.
ALSO, and very importantly, I'm looking to get my Mudkip cock made! As a reminder, it looks something like this:

So here's the deal! We're going to have this thing actually made. I just need 10 people who want it. So far, we're at 7. If you posted before, that's awesome. Now they've made a thread with a poll.
http://www.exotic-erotics.com/forum.....hp?topic=469.0
If any of you could commit to buying one, even a small one, I'd be eternally grateful. Heck, I'm willing to guarantee the price for you for a small would be $50 or below. Anything above that I'll paypal you if it ends up costing more.
PLEASE get this made :)

On Mudkip Dongs
General | Posted 14 years agoSo, here's the deal! I submitted a couple close-ups of Mudkip cock. Cool, cool. But now, like the mad scientist I am, I've gone too far!

It's quite likely we're going to get this thing made for real. A friend is working on a 3D model of it, but here's a rough idea of what we've come up with so far.

If you'd like to feel something like that for real, or are just interested in giving some feedback, head on over to the forums there and let me know! This will probably be the thing I'm best known for in my life, so... may as well make it good!
Edit: Vote for it here!
