January Conclusive / February Goals
General | Posted 12 years agoIt is certainly amazing how your mood and feeling of motivation can be changed in just thirty one days.January started off very wonderfully. I can say that I completed each and every scheduled two and a half hours of creation. The major issue I ran into in January was when my employer cut me from the scheduled work hours a month earlier than they had told me that they would. It has been a weight of stress latched onto my ankle amongst many other things.
I started out using my planner, but swiftly found it hard to keep track of and to write in. I feel like I need a lap desk but I do not want to impede more expenses without making money myself.
Fitness:
Big Shot for EveryMove Fit Pursuit: 150 workout minutes minimum per week.
It is still in progress. I did not know that it didn’t begin until January 13, this this week is the third week and so far, despite an injury, I have managed to get a big shot for all three weeks.
Knee injury
The second workout of the month I badly injured my left knee. I am not sure what I had done to it, but it made me have to do a lot of extra procedures in order to go anywhere, to have to sleep a certain way, and prevented me from doing workouts that involved it. Thankfully, it finally came to completely heal by the end of the month, but it is hard not to be nervous with it.
Mini Weight Goal: Energized (165 lbs)
The lowest I made it in January was 165.4 lbs.
I finally hit 164.6 lbs on February 1st.
Written:
Minimum word count per week: 1,200 words.
At first, I did not keep up with this at all. Most all I did was read or draw at the beginning of the month, though in the last week I typed over eight thousand words in collaboration with my friend, Dana.
Terms & Conditions for art Requests, Trades, and Commissions.
This was not completed, though it was attempted seven times.
I honestly couldn’t focus with all of my stress, loneliness, and immobility.
Finish the Google Doc-ception; I need to solidify my organization and lists always help me.
Only works well when looking at my screen doesn’t kill my eyes.
I will work on it slowly throughout the year.
There is a good chance I won’t finish them all this year.
At least once response to each and every role play.
Completed with the exception of a small few that just weren’t possible for me to get back into. (There are over thirty in total: both dead and still moving.)
Illustrations:
Puck’s Ref Sheet: At least the basic lineart finished.
Incomplete
Upon almost finishing the first snapshot of him, Jake mentioned that the sword was incorrect. Only until the last day of the month did he finally give me the reference picture of it.
Also, our other pathfinder players decided that they also wanted me to draw their characters next. So, in order not to keep them waiting for the entire ref sheet to be complete before moving to the next one, I’m going to try and draw a snapshot for each of them.
Coloring Tutorials
Never got to them. Whenever they came to mind, I found it too hard to watch any lit screens. Side effect when on bed rest for your leg and the television and your phone end up being all you can use.
Birthday Gift: Michelle (January 24th)
I could not figure out a concept for her. Will have to figure out what to make her while I wait for the next one.
Ended up working on a birthday gift for MichiTheThird.
At first began to rush, but then decided to take my time and make sure I was happy with it before I am to give it to her, even if it is now very late.

Still working on figuring out pose

February is here. The shortest month of the year.I have determined that I will try to do as much as I can, but I’m going to follow what feels right. My perfectionism is part of how I learn, and would be going against myself if I didn’t follow my own judgement on my artwork. (Even if a lot of the time I hold myself to too high of an expectation.
Fitness:
Mini Weight Goal: Lovely (160 lbs)
Should be really easy. I’m 2.6 lbs away.
Mini Weight Goal: Strong (155 lbs)
I don’t know if I will lost 7.6 lbs in 25 days, but who knows.
Walk Frosty at least once a week, twice or more if possible.
Poor guy is going crazy with boredom and he is starting to gain weight. He needs the activity before he gets fat and sick.
Writing:
Terms & Conditions
I’m going to break it down into sections and type it out.
Descriptions for types of artwork I will do for others.
I’ve come up with a few categories and at last I have a bit of a plan on how I will organize how things are priced or differentiated.
Revise one chapter of Driahries.
I figure one chapter wouldn’t be too much and it will be something simple to do in free time.
Drawing:
Kiriban
Dark-Arctic-Fox's character : Reference Image
Finish Puck’s Snapshot Line Art
Just need to fix the hands and the sword.
Finish Toryat Glaive’s Line Art
Just need to do the rest of the tail details, the whip like braids, and markings.
Commission Samples for Pricing image
I’m going to be approaching people to ask for them to allow me to make them a commission piece for free. This will mostly be guided at my friends because most of their characters I have grown to know well enough to easily picture them.
Jayy
At least get a concept put together. It shouldn't be so difficult to draw her once I figure out the pose I want.
The Plan
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, amongst my night terrors and throbbing cold sweats from this head cold, I have had little snippets of imagining myself standing before this new year. I am standing tall with a fire in my eyes--flourished with motivation and my stubborn determination. I have let myself be foolish enough to shove aside trying to draw for so many years. I have made the excuse that I didn't have the energy to really get back into drawing all of the time--I had more important things to do than to write my story or draw my characters. It is amazing what finally making some random decision to include yourself in a worldly challenge, even when deciding to do so a couple days later than the actual start, and completing it can do for a wake up call. I am a NaNoWriMo 2013 winner, and it has made me realize more than ever that my dream career is to be an Author and Illustrator. There is no way that will come to be if I do not keep at it--if I do not make time for it.
Around this time, many people begin to work on figuring out a New Year's resolution. Something that they want to change about their lives; they make a goal to improve themselves. Well, I have come up with a plan.
Of course, I am still struggling with my weight and my quest for better health, however, this is a goal that cannot be accomplished with only focusing on one year. It is a life-long project. I will still diet and exercise--I'd love to be thin and fit for :devkael-zochar:'s wedding--but I will do that continuously for my life. It would be pointless to make that my New Year's Resolution. So, I have a different new one.
My year of 2014 is going to be my year of Incredible Creation. I have scheduled myself to sit down to write, read, or draw for two and a half hours every other day. Of course, so far I have spent much more time than the scheduled time to create lately, and I imagine that will continue for the entire year. I have crafted some lists that I am still trying to type up of things I want to write, draw, and read. I'm working on a doc-ception with Google drive to type them up. So far all I have done is the descriptions of the drawing categories (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V9LDzA2bjKbz8QRnVrtk-w4IB1DZgvKmYO2JMEwLlsk/edit?usp=sharing). I would have worked on it more today, but my head keeps switching from throbbing pain to light as air. (I wasn't capable of going to work today. I hate calling in sick.)
For the time being, I have a few top priorities that I will list here as a small checklist until I get the rest of my Google documents typed up and linked together.
Puck's Reference Sheet (Pathfinder) - Three snapshot pictures: childhood, Kitsune adulthood, Humanoid disguise/form ~belongs to Jake
Color Nona Desktop I - Learning (Possibly some tutorials needed)
Ophelia's Reference Sheet - Snapshots so far: Humanoid form (When she meets Zeth), Natural form (Raptor) ~belongs to
Onivale and
AeiriMuse
Zeth's Reference Sheet - Snapshots so far: Humanoid form (When he meets Ophelia, mainly a good third into his full life span), Natural form (Dire Wolf/Grizzly Bear) ~belongs to
AeiriMuse
A gift for Rebecca010 - Her rapid attention to my posts has inspired me. She has helped sway me to post my doodles that I have done in the last years that are not yet posted here.
I want to use 2014 as my year to catch up on the many years I have pushed aside my artwork and writing.
I'm going to make a goal at the beginning of each month and report my progress at the end of each month, as well as set the new goals for the upcoming month.
All of what I create and log will be incorporated into my very first art book that will be available for purchase in 2015. (lulu.com)
I will always be open for requests. I may not decide to do every single one that is mentioned to me, but I tend to thrive on being challenged to draw others' characters. There are limits to what I want to draw. (I will get to that eventually.)
I am interested in doing trades. Due to learning from my past, I will not take on more than one trade per month. There are limits to what I will accept for the quality I receive in comparison to what I am to give. (I will get to this eventually as well.)
I am interested in doing commissions again. These will be limited per month, however. My skills, as unpracticed as they have been, have still been adjusting over the years. There is a clear difference between my older illustrations in comparison to the ones. I will need to reconfigure my prices. As with requests and trades, my commissions will also have limits on what I will draw.
I will develop my terms for my requests, trades, and commissions. Until then, everything will be negotiable. To a Happy Holiday!
General | Posted 12 years agoUsually around this time of the year I am miserable and depressed. My days usually pass me by while I stare off into space in tears. This year it is different. I still miss my mother like nothing else, though I am blessed with the love of my life picking me up and bringing me cheer again. Jake surprised me this year with our first Christmas tree. Ours. Not my dad's; not our roommates'. It is -OUR- first tree and he made it look so amazing. He also decorated our living room with stockings for everyone, even for Frosty, and I am excited for the holiday to finally get here so I can look inside the presents!
I was not able to get him something this year before he bought it for himself, but I still have the power to draw him something--and there are a few projects that he has been waiting a while for me to start. I have a few options to choose from to try and do before Christmas day:
-Puck the Kitsune Rogue (Pathfinder)
-Nicholas the Malachim (His OC/OS)
-Klaus, Nicholas' son
-Officer with wings--Protector of the Public (For his business card)
No matter which I do, it won't be a surprise for him because I'll have to bug him to tell me the details or to point out what he wants changed, but I think it would make him happy. ^ ^ Keep an eye out on my livestream because I plan to try and record all of my drawing whenever I have internet.
I also would like to put the message out there that if you would like me to do any commissions for you, or you have a request, please send me a PM. It will probably be some time before I can really hammer out my best, so the prices will start pretty low and only increase as my skill levels do. I am greatly open for requests as they may get me outside of my box or even help reawaken my creative muscle.
