ummm... well a month without a peep anywhere but then again that's partially my fault seeing as i haven't posted any literature, art, custom images, or work in progress pics either.

i hit a bit of a slump but with any luck i should be able to hammer myself back into shape... bloody hell i need something to do with my time... i can't keep going through my tools and parts obsessively.

i've been using what i can to continue to collect materials for making things... i now have an excess of everything because... well... i don't have customs lined up at the moment.

i have 9 plain unicorns ready to work with as well as 5 more unicorns with the raised foreleg posture (who can just as easily become earth ponies with that posture), 8 earth ponies, and 8 pegasai.

as for paint i have... well... a lot...
- 6 shades of Red
- 5 shades of Orange
- 5 shades f Yellow
- 11 shades of Green (including one glow in the dark and one neon)
- 6 shades of Teal or Greenish Blue
- 9 shades of Blue
- 7 shades of Purple (including an extreme glitter one)
- 6 shades of Pink
- 22 different earth tones (including black, white, and grey)
- 9 different metallic tones

13 blocks of fimo as well as some liquid sculpy. a small stock of green stuff and liquid green stuff and a good amount of tools...

I have to be honest, i'm having a really terrible evening. I'm really very worried about my commissioners speaking badly about the ponies they commissioned from me. So far i haven't heard much from any of them and it worries me terribly. I haven't heard much of anything from two of them and a third just hit me with a rather painful message earlier.

I don't intend to name names here. I'm not interested in starting a massive argument, i'm just concerned and quite honestly i feel terrible. I did my best to have a pony sculpted and shipped within the timeframe i was given despite complications arising from unrelated sources. I feel as if i've failed and in doing so i have doomed myself with this little hobby when i've barely started.

I set about shipping the sculptures, working from prices that i had used previously and found out, literally at the post office, that prices had gone up. I could ship a sculpture on a timeframe of a week and a half for roughly $10 to either Canada or the united states. In order to receive a tracking number and faster shipping i would have had to pay $20 in shipping which is impractical and honestly a little unfair considering i had charged $30 for the custom and shipping alltogether. So i tried my best and did what i could though the post office had assured me that the package would arrive within the timeframe i was given.

Today i received a message informing me that it had not yet arrived and i was accused of not having sent it at all. I was asked for proof that i had shipped the sculpture and informed that i was ruining a special gift and directly causing grief and emotional pain. To many artists, i'm sure, it wouldn't be much of an effect. I'm sure that the very famous artists would have taken that in stride or perhaps even laughed about it... but this is the first time i have done commissions for people in a long time and the very first time i had made physical artwork to send via the post.

I'm not generally a very confident person. I had a short story i was writing be rejected and picked apart on a very critical level and it was a major blow to my confidence. I put up my stories and didn't touch them again for months for fear they wouldn't be good enough for other people to want to read. Now i feel the same way about sculpting... i wonder if i should even bother anymore considering how little interest i have received and the negative feedback. I'm worried sick that all my commissioners are going to say things like “don't commission him, he doesn't know what he's doing,” or the like and I’ll be robbed of the opportunity to make more things for people to enjoy.

I never intended this to be a moneymaking venture... in all honesty if i wasn't living on government assistance and had all the money in the world i would be doing commissions for free. I love doing the work for the challenge. I'm given a two dimensional drawing of a pony and using that i need to envision that pony in three dimensions and make that picture come to life in a way. I strive to do my best with each project i undertake and the commission charge goes right back into getting more supplies to do more custom work. Little things like old guitar strings to make wires and cables... new shades of paint so i can get a pony's colour just right... i even found a store that sells little felt cowboy hats in the prefect scale.

I just want to be able to do my best and make a few people happy while i do it... i hate letting people down.

Alrighty now with that out of the way, i know all of you are terribly busy so i will be brief. i am bored out of my tree. also i happen to have a couple dozen Gen-4 ponies, a lot of fimo and tools and a massive arse-load of paint. this is what i do to stay sane, i make customs. right now i have nothing on my list for work to do and it's driving me up the wall. you can see my work so far and prices are as follows.

A pony custom ranges from $20 to $40 depending on the complexity. just a pony (mane, tail, paint and cutie mark) will cost $20. it's all negotiable and i think i'm fair when it comes to prices. shipping costs extra, because Canada post is like that, but i'll do anywhere in North America for $10. shipping is free if you can get to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and pick it up in person or you know somebody i could hand it off to in the city to get it to you. i'm not out to make a ton of cash on this, i just like sculpting and i take pride in making things that people enjoy, prices are to cover costs of materials so i can get more interesting things and offer better and better customs. give me a shout if you're interested... i check my online things many, many times a day.

i just finished up everything on my commission list and it's clear again. i hate myself so much for hos long it's taken to do these customs. in the end it's just my fault and i don't want to seem like a whiner about my life currently but i do feel i should explain a little.

i'm struggling with depression. medicated for it and i'm far more cheerful but the side effects of my meds are A.D.D. which effects my work fair bit but the second side effect is what's really making it hard.

the meds make my hands shake. now i'm used to it a little, i used to get the shakes every now and then, but this is constant and frankly scares the living crap out of me. i used to paint warhammer figurines and now it's a struggle to work with anything near that level of detail. i spend hours working and reworking any details on my current pieces in the hopes that it doesn't look like a five year old on red bull fingerpainted a pony.

i'm managing for the moment by using elastic bandages and bracing my hands on the desk and such but i am honestly scared that it's going to get worse. in no way am i going to stop painting or sculpting or writing or doing anything else with my hands, and i'm not going to give up on the quality and effort i put into my work.

with that out of the way i'd still like to apologize to my commissioners or to anybody who plans to commission me in the future. i will work through these problems and rise above to the best of my ability. feel free to poke me, berate me, pester me constantly, if you feel i'm not moving fast enough.

6 Inch anthro Twilight Sparkle figurine
i'm tempting fate and testing my ambition when i get a few spare moments. i have the armature done as well as the base and a few detail pieces but it should look awesome if it turns out half as good as i want it to. once it's done i think i may auction it off somewhere.

i'm trying to see if i can sculpt a gryphon and so far it's turning out well, the real pain in the flank part are the claws and toes but if it looks good then i'll be offering gryphons as well as ponies.

since i did the two main characters of my work of fiction i decided to do the rest of the guards from my story 'Ponies at Arms'. shooting star is half painted sitting on a shelf at the moment and boulder is sculpted and fired but i'm not sure i'm happy with the way his build turned out. i tried to make him hulkingly large and i don't know if it turned out right . Star also got modified to make her shorter than the average mare and that turned out well.

sometimes when ponies get a little too much to handle, things not working out the way i intend or the small details escaping me, i turn my eye to modifying nerf weapons and the like. this one is weighted and modified so heavily that it doesn't really resemble the super soaker pistol i based it on anymore. when i have this one finished and painted i intend to auction it off someplace for a few extra caps... i mean bits... i mean dollars.

i hate doing things like this because i feel like such a heel whenever i do but life is getting in the way of things and it's tossing a monkey wrench into my plans.

i took my van in for a safety and it failed... meaning i have no vehicle for the time being. i blew a few days running around like a crazy bugger trying to sort it all out and discovered, much to my joy, that the money needed to repair the van exceeds what it's worth to do so therefore i need a new car. this is both good and bad. bad because i can't get out of the house to do anything at all and good because i can't get out of the house and do anything at all. so I'll be working more on sculpting and painting but I'll slowly be going stir crazy.

so sorry to my commissioners. i am working on your ponies it's just taking me a lot longer than i would have liked. with nowhere else to go and nothing much to do in the meantime i'll be working flat out on finishing ponies and seeing if i can garner any extra interest, not that i expect much interest.

so i figured i might leave this up here rather than the semi hopeful journal from a month ago claiming i was going to do more art and more writing. i have actually done more writing... a lot more... a whole lot more... but i feel i've neglected FA for so long that there is unlikely to be any interest in what i have to write.

that and it's sadly all ponies... i frequent many of those sites and have a brand new DA account all set up. (if you feel like following me there or reading what i have to offer, just ask and ye might just receive) where i will be submitting the majority of my writing material.

honestly though it's not going to be much in that either... i have thousands of ideas and really no drive to see them all finished. in total i think i've typed enough for a good size novel but it's broken up over about two dozen half finished stories and none are anywhere close to a stage i would feel comfortable with seeing online.

my desire for anything in the world of furry has subsequently died down (i used to check FA obsessively and now there are over 8 and a half thousand messages left unchecked) and now i find myself in an the obsessive and crazy world of Equestria.

so this is starting to ramble... anyway... i don't know when i might be back on FA full time... i don't know when i might be doing anything furry related... i don't even know if i'll be back at all.. sorry anyone who cares but that's better than lying about it...

so i dusted off the submit button today and discovered that the last time i posted any artwork was well over a year ago... more like 13 months. i think it's rather sad that the best work that's come out of the past year for me was two ponies... and a piece of fan art that was drawn and colored ages ago.

life is getting... interesting... i'm forcing myself to get back into drawing more or writing or anything because i don't have a lot else to do with my days so there may be more artwork on the way if i can get the hang of scanning with Risu's scanner.

oh also  RisuMurasaki is still mine... still no touchey

contrary to the actual title of this journal i will be brief. in 3 days i will attempt a very long drive over a series of days with Risu at my side. the destination will be far from any place i have known to a place that i have no desire to see or be a greater part of.

this trip will be for the sake of money, hopefully i can get my hands on a job that will pay handsomely and enable Risu and i to return again to my homeland (Ontario) with enough money for a down payment on our future home and the ability to create our future and stop relying on outside help to make our own way.

i am unsure of how much time i will have on hand to apply to anything furry related in the upcoming year so until such a time as i am in a comfortable place; this journal may be considered Goodbye to all my friends and Risu's.

26 days... less than one month... then the book reaches its end... and if I'm lucky I'll have a brand new book with brand new chapters waiting for me... a million miles from home...

i have already made my farewells and shook the hands of those that helped along the way but my story is ending and the future looks very busy indeed...

so the time is drawing close when i shall venture out into the world of furry a little deeper, i have been content to stand at the shore and dip my toes from time to time but now i believe it is time to at least get my knees wet, so to speak.

i will be leaving from home with  RisuMurasaki ,  Potato_Zombie and  Toby the Gammamon

it is a small convention in a town i know somewhat well considering i was born there but it's been years since i've visited and over 20 years since i lived there. though apprehensive i look forward to the trip, i just hope that my old van can hold together for the long voyage

so... i'm trying to work on a writing idea of mine and honestly i can't come up with any furry species that aren't just cliche...

i already have a wolf and a squirrel in this story idea as well as one of those aliens i invented a while back. i have some extras *cough*redshirts*cough* who are whatever basic things i can think of but honestly i need to find some cool sorts of species to make it all more varried.

anything anyone can think of would be appreciated.

10 months since i posted any art of any kind... i think perhaps i was aiming for some kind of record, however i have been doodling as of late and decided it was about time i put something up and shake the dust off of this gallery.

there may be more artwork to come or there may not be, i have some roughed out but it really depends on what the subject matter of those drawings has to say about them...

on a similar note i find myself living happily with  RisuMurasaki at her place and picking up a lot of the domestic side of things (cooking, cleaning, mostly cooking...)

she and i have plans to attend some conventions here in Ontario in the near future so perhaps i may meet some more watchers to add to my list here.

my computer is under repair, data is being recovered but moving day is tomorrow... the likelihood of it being complete soon is slim. i may now not have a working computer until the 1st at the earliest and even then the internet may be a no... sorry for the sloppy update this is being down from the computer of my lovely  RisuMurasaki when i should really be sleeping to get up in the morning

so i took my computer into staples against my better judgment to get it fixed, i told them to back up my files on my desktop and repair windows which was corrupt.

after many days i get my PC back and the files i had requested had not been backed up, and in addition the computer had been reformatted, all that survived was my received items folder and a folder of downloaded torrents... 22gb of barely useful data out of over 100.

I've asked them to see at all whether the data can be recovered but it looks like the process with be neither easy nor inexpensive... 10 years of writing and artwork not to mention many many memories of my friends are now gone...

i won't be using the old hard drive i have in that computer for fear of overwriting any of my old data which i would desperately like to have back. i think i may try and purchase a new hard drive (seeing as i can get one for $100, just down the street) and try to rebuild

to make the matter more difficult i will be moving in less than a week, i will have no contact with friends except for the computer, which may not be recoverable. i'm trying to make the most of the time i have left with my closest friend  RisuMurasaki before i'm forced to leave

i'll try and get on here for another update or to check my messages but this may be the final journal for a long while from me. if so, best of luck to all of you and it's been a fun year.

ok... whoever it was that happened to create the virus currently infecting my computer... is in serious need of being shot... to death... with hammers...

so first of all it didn't do much besides make my pc a little slow... then when i tried to install AVG via a handy flash drive, my computer magically and mysteriously ceases to recognize any and all USB devices except for the mouse and the wireless stick...

now I'm annoyed... so i try and download fresh copies of my handy cleaners and lo and behold, every single link to download any kind of antivirus software redirects my to google...

now it's getting ridiculous.. so i happen to get a copy of an antivirus program, i can't run it because it shuts down all installs of any .exe file. so i rename it to something else to install it and it starts running, and tells me that "there are too many errors and the computer will need to be shut down and scanned at startup" so i shut down... and now every time i try and log in i get immediately logged out again... even in safe mode

so needless to say... i have no computer... not for at least a week, and chances are i have now traded my new(ish) computer... for a $800 paperweight...

so.... angry.....

on a lighter note i can now type this with the help of the very awesome  RisuMurasaki ... total props to the awesome squirrel for letting me borrow her computer.

with a little poking i've been persuaded to try out this 10 sketches thing. i think it'll be a good thing for me to break out of this art funk i've been in for a while, anyways here's the rules:

(1) Give me time to sketch it. (sorry, i'm kinda slow)

(2) I would prefer general art but mature is alright so long as it's not all hardcore or fetishy

(3) I can only do 2 characters max (and even then 2 is pushing it for little old me :p )

(4) Send me a note on specifics and a little picture if you can

(5) I pick the style 'cuz i can only do a few types but i will try and do them all up nice
