Discord: you can set up and join niche servers for friends, to share stuff or VC in
Twitter: is more for reaching a wider audience.

I'd say it depends on the kind of person you are and your goals. They're more group based I'd say, since you'd want to use Discord to make a server/Twitter to speak your thoughts out to everyone, so if that's what you want to do then go for it!

I do think that what you lose with those two is the "intimacy" aspect that I feel with Telegram. A lot of Discord servers feel quiet unless there's some kind of activity going on/there's a lot of people there and most small/new Twitters don't have a lot of engagement unless it's porn based and even then, it seems very shallow. This is just my observations and there are always exceptions, but I've never run into them haha.

i find discord is really fun for just hanging out with people. Its servers are much more in depth than telegram's with custom names, seperate rooms and the like.

Tbf, I've always seen Twitter for "attentions" (in the good and the bad meaning of the term) and Discord for "interactions". So it's up to you to decide how you wanna use it.
Personally I chose Discord since it's more for chatting and less for showing stuff ^^
