Speaking as a former game developer, This is all very sound advice. I would also add look at current games that have cunsomization abilities, or unreal sites, and look for modders of the furry persuasion.

you could also try creating a social media account like twitter where it's entirely dedicated to furry games and their makers, I find that twitter or other social media platforms are a good way to get your message out
