It's good to see you taking on this outlook. It's one I've prescribed to since I started drawing oh...god, 18 years ago. I draw what I want, when I want, if you don't like it, STFU, hehe.
Yes, sometimes I get the itching desire to draw porn or adult natured things, but there are times when I just like to doodle out whatever ends up on the paper, be it gnomes with axes, angels, elves, and of the non-porn variety. It's the easiest way to keep the inspiriation and creative juices flowing. Sometimes I will get an idea from a friend and run with it, but usually it's whatever holds itself in my brainpan long enough.
I just noticed your journal so my note to you is outdated already. But even if you do get a fresh start here, someone will probably tip those who were only in for the porn off as to where you went. I hope that doesn't happen, but it probably will eventually.
The fact you're also making a sttement about people being into the art for only porn--I agree with it and I never draw it.
indeed - and good for you! ^_^ I realize that some of them might find me, but once they find out I'm not loading ANYTHING pornographic from now on, hopefully they'll just... go away. XD
Its nice to experiment to see what people like. My mate did an experiment; uploaded one clean image and one adult image at the same time. The adult got more hits. Sad that most people come here for porn.
"Keep your fans"? If what you drew prior to this was 100% for someone(s) else, you never took any enjoyment in it, and you effectively had to force yourself to make mature work b/c you felt it was crucial to "popularity"... then that would be a real perversion of your artistic talent and I'll applaud you for ending that Charade and drawing not but clean art now...
But there is one major logical flaw in this rationale: IF your concern is no longer "losing fans", then quietly switching to drawing only clean work would have been adequate. Removing a large percentage of your artwork gives the appearance that you're running away from a visage. And that poses an even greater question: "What about those of us who watched you for BOTH?". Would the attention of someone who preferred your 'Pinups', now be unwanted too? Will you never draw another pinup again purely on Principle?
The impression I walk away with from this journal and the actions taken, is that there's a group of people you want to separate yourself from... and it's still a bit unclear where that line is drawn? And I'd point out that deleting your old account/art and Hiding from these people is not any more commendable and effective than simply asking them to unwatch you ...as the crux of the matter is they make you feel "icky" and you need them gone to feel good about your Art again. So why didn't you just confront ....Them ...Us... whoever it may be that you were once afraid of losing? (but it's fine to talk about them when they're not in the same room?). It's very suspicious to say the least, like a love-hate relationship.
I apologize for how confrontational this appears, I just wanted to dissect the situation.
I do not wish to offend a fellow veteran and artist, we've lost too many good one's already over the years.
I'd either leave FA entirely, or get a new account. Plain and simple.
I don't WANT to look at the old art myself. And it was to the point where I was getting comments on pieces that were not sexual asking why they weren't.
Suspicious or not, I don't really give a crap. It's my decision, plain and simple. I don't want to be so known and especially for that stuff. That's all.
No no, I agree with not wanting to be so known. I'm in a real pickle myself b/c I've always drawn only what I wanted to(100% nonprofit amateur) but it just happens to be adult content that I choose to draw... meaning remaining obscure isn't entirely in my hands anymore if what some others have said about FA is true.
Despite what I draw for myself, it appears my favorite image of yours was ironically General Audience ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/401877/ ) so I hope that's of some assurance to you...
I know it is to me
Since I've only just found your work and have never seen any of your old artwork, so I can't say that I'll miss it. What I can say though, is that I'm sorry that the inappreciative comments of others have made it so that new users cannot appreciate all of your works. I always find it a annoying when the actions of an intolerant few force others to change instead of appreciating what they have.

I can be honest and say that I'd like to see your adult work (especially considering how good your non-adult work is!) but I can understand the decision you are making. Even if others don't, know that some people will appreciate your art no matter what you do or don't draw. Thanks for your art!

*hug* Good to hear you taking a fresh start. Your art is wonderful and I am happy that you are taking it and yourself seriously.

Again, kudos, and may your change be a happy one.

hope you get a clean slate from this.
...so I guess that would be where it first became known to me too...
