Do you feel a fondness for someone but find that maybe you shouldn't tread down that path for a variety of reasons? I mean, it would be a nice adventure that's for sure. However, you feel like you may regret it after the fact. They don't realize it? Or maybe they do, they just choose to hide that preference from you even though it would be fine if you knew whether it was the truth or not. It's a hard position to be in, though I wouldn't say it's painful.
