New Year's Resolutions for 2018

General
Yeah yeah, resolutions are kind of lame. Why even make them if you can start on them like weeks ago? This procrastinating is just an example that you're not going to take them seriously anyways. True true. I suppose for this new year, I've gotten a new perspective on things because of someone's breakdown on Twitter, as well as the fact that I'll turn 30 this upcoming year, I just feel it's appropriate. Maybe this is really goals for the upcoming decade of my life... These are pretty general goals though.
1) Socialize more. I have had social anxiety for as long as I remember and it's pretty difficult. I'll say my whole absence of friendship in general has made it difficult to even make sense of it's value. Why do people have friends? It's a normal thing though... to form relationships with people. That's something I'd desire more of. Normalcy. I'm thinking of making contact with 1-2 new people per week. Even if it's from using chatting programs. It's really something important I need to learn cause you know, who wants to end up being alone in the end?
2) Practice Japanese. I've been trying to learn off and on for almost 15 years. I just always lose interest. I really want to work more on listening comprehension and speaking rather than literacy. I got this idea of maybe listening to tv shows and radio shows to try and learn and study by making transcription. All languages are really spoken so I want to be able to pick up on it more than learn how to read. That can come after.
3) Give drawing a shot. I'm not good but I got inspired because of gift art I got. It didn't click to me that it can be given as gift and I thought it would be cool to give back to people. I have a drawing tablet that I've never used for anything and it would be awesome to just go for it. I would like to study it though but I hear it's just practice practice.
4) Read a book a month at least. I want to re-read some of the books I loved when I went to college. I've felt this mental atrophy from not reading. I want to read philosophy! A subject I really like and believe it's important even though I feel all it does is describe things rather than explain.
5) Go to a furcon! I'm thinking of Alamo City Furry Invasion, since it's closer location-wise, and far enough to balance my current finances. Would be fun to see how they are.
If anyone has read this, Happy New Year's to you. May you have a good one!
